Look at the suspension strut.
Then look to the left side of that, and into the engine bay

You should see a large silver pipe.
The breather joiner is near that

EUREKA - Thanks Pete K, found it in the arch, clip had come off where it turns up-hill. I Pulled it backwards through the wheel arch just far enough to poke it up again. Time for the snip! (not me Laughing )

good u found the pipe in the end , know they can be fun to find , lol

i cut the old breather off then put a pushfit coupling and then extended mine round to the spare aux battery tray, along with the modified breather

just so it was well out of the way ,

Part is LR019450. I paid around €11 eur including part of shipping costs (in a larger order) for a new one. Shopping around might make sense. The usual suspects like Advanced Factors, Rimmer Bros, LRdirect and many others carry it. Might also find it on fleabay.

Just bought one from my local LR dealer for £31.22 inc vat.

Couldn’t find it much cheaper anywhere to justify waiting for delivery rather than being able to collect first thing AM.

I just cut the valve off on mine. As long as I don't go wading to a depth higher than the breather pipe all will be fine.

Have to say, now struggling to get enough grip on the breather tube to push the new cap on.

Released the coolant return to get better access, but even still.

How’d you guys do it?

Did my breather today as per above instructions (spot on write up), not even 5 mins. No pressure on removal of the old cap thankfully. I did not cut it up but when gently blowing down the cut end of the tube, the top of the cap rose, so I assume it was still working OK. Less than a tenner was painless, I imagine the £20 quoted above was for the full breather pipe assembly, which you dont need.

Hi mate, where did you purchase it from? I need to get mine done

Just a quick heads up, CGA wrote his reply 4 years ago, so price probably less relevant now.

The online retailers, eBay, and amazon all seem close to £31, but that’s what my local Land Rover dealer parts department wanted, and they got it next day for collection.

Kajtzu listed the LR part number a couple of posts up, so you can always google for it just in case you can find it cheaper, but I couldn’t yesterday.

Good luck!

personally as it was indeed tight trying to get the new breather on i fitted a pushfit coupling onto where i had removed the old breather and extended it round to under the aux battery tray area
