Compressor
Just a quick question to those in the know.
My compressor is playing up so a 2010 Disco 4 GS would anyone know if they was fitted with the AMK or Hitachi versions?
Reading up I’m seeing that the AMK needs a conversion kit but some sites they are saying “ THIS AMK BRANDED PUMP REPLACES A COMPRESSOR WHERE A AMK MODIFIED COMPRESSOR HAS ALREADY BEEN FITTED TO THE VEHICLE LR078650X1”.
Any ideas?

If you still have the original compressor it’s likely to be Hitachi but it may have been replaced at some point with a AMK which needs a software update.Best to take the cover of and have a look.
Don’t fit an unbranded compressor or you will regret it.

Ok after another search on the web I’ve just read this…..
“A genuine AMK replacement air suspension compressor for models that already have an AMK compressor fitted or have already been upgraded. Early models before 2011 were originally built with a Hitachi compressor, if you still have the Hitachi compressor and you wish to upgrade to the AMK, you will need the full upgrade kit: LR072537G”.
So answers my question but I’ll have a look at all the paperwork and see and if that doesn’t help then yes cover off and see with my own eyes.
Thanks bud.

Thanks both, pictures are much appreciated.
Wishes.
Ps,
I’ll most probs get the AMK with the conversion kit, cheapest I can find is £530.00.
If it has been changed I can then do a direct swop and if needs be change the pipe work.

Finally got round to looking at what pump I have and it’s the Hitachi version as below.
Now, it’s not worth the hassle of taking it off just to use a service kit so where is the cheapest place for a replacement?
Regards and thanks.

The absolutely full service kit from X8R is much less than a new or remanufactured compressor so if you’re handy it might make sense to figure out what’s wrong with it and DIY…

I recently got this kit and it looks well made and the instructions are pretty good.
