I used these very quick improved push fit connectors on the air reservoir. My bracket was fecked and I also orderd some new fitting bolts.

They do the pump on its own

Does it make sense to spend money on a 13 year old compressor,it lives in a very harsh environment.
You could go for a Dunlop compressor,it’s compatible with the Hitachi. The correct plug type is vital if you go for a cheap hitachi type, see this photo.

If the compressor is advertised as “hitachi type “ it’s definitely not genuine Hitachi.

Thanks all.

As per pics above my compressor looks worse for wear but I’m assuming that upgrading the insides would make it last another 13 years.

I did see loads of compressors marked as Hitachi compatible so yes they are not genuine but how good are the not genuine compressors?

At the moment the dash says on start up normal height only and the ride is a bit harsh but drivable.

Well changed the compressor for a Dunlop version and god what a pain in the ass trying to get to the top left bolt.

In the end snapped off the old mount and had to cut a grove in the new mount so I could slide the top bracket into the bolt and use the two bottom to secure the pump.

So question………

How long does it take to charge the system?

Started the car waited 5 mins then cooled down for 10 and started the same process a few times.

Took car for a drive felt a lot better ride and quicker rising as well.

Now I’ve noticed another issue, blue smoke on hard boot to floor.
