Not Split but Novigrad, a bit further up the coast, or not so far down the coast if driving.
Lovely little fishing village, just outside is a new large Hotel or next to that, for the locals and tourists, is a well equipped camp site.
It is obviously right on the coast and has a slipway and boats for hire too.
We used to fly to Pula and bus it to Novigrad and the nearest town/city to Novigrad is Porec.

I went to Rovinj on the Istria peninsular this year and stayed at Val Saline camping which only opened in May. I've never been to such a large site before but the facilities were top class. They have really ticked all the boxes you could want. It used to be part of the naturist site next door which is 6500 people in capacity, they chopped off a 1500 capacity site for us textiles and have made a really good job of it. Reasonable restaurant on site too.

WiFi on site was poor when I was there so I wouldn't bother unless it's half empty. I got a good tv signal on an 85cm dish, there is fresh water hookups and the same for waste and the lecky is rated at 16 amps.
Enjoy! FFRR 2017 4.4SDV8 Autobiography. Cost so much I must be mad!

Think Croatia generally is currently underated as a holiday destination.
Three years on the trot two families made the trip. Basically, I turned my disco into a van and filled it with two families worth of camping gear and made the journey with another adult. Meanwhile, the rest of the party flew to the Ryan Air destination Zadar about twenty minutes up the road form the site.
So basically, out comes the gear and all pitched, turn the car back into a car and pick everyone else up.
Great site and facilities (your own tv feed, water and electric to every pitch), great showers, toilets etc.
At the last trip - pitched 80 metres from the beach!
Great bars and restaurants within a short walk. "Fuel food" type bar meals (grilled chicken, chips and salad) around £3 a go.
£1 a pint (a the time - may have changed now with the drop in the £).
