D3 Airbag Light on - Guidance Please
Hi all
I’ve been reading codes over a few weeks on the D3 and I’ve got a lot of airbag lights.
It appears someone’s been under the steering wheel at some point but I thought I’d ask whether with this combination it’s typically a certain problem to save time?
Thanks

Most seem electrical failure of some type. I would check battery, alternator and the various earth points especially around the battery first before jumping in. Could also be a faulty sensor like the crash sensor?? especially if you have had a bump in that area.

It points towards a disconnected connector or bad wiring. Have you checked the WS manual with those codes?

Common mistake calling them ejector seats...it’s Ejection Seat. Could be an Americanism.

It’s under the cubby box
Easy to get to,
Two bolts under the ashtray at the front
One bolt each side by the seat base under a little flip off grill thing.
Can be accessed by moving seats forward
Of which you need to do before disconnecting the battery
Do NOT work on the air bag module while battery is connected

If you reset the airbag fault does it come back alsmost straight away or after a few hours or days of driving? if so, it could be the clockspring. I battled it for a while thinking it was a bad connection, in the end I swapped it for a new one and it was sorted.

Hi
Don’t know if this will help much but when I bought my D3 as a project it had a multitude of airbag faults
That was because someone had cut wiring / curtain airbags etc ,
the list went on and like @yogi also spent ages finding all the faults, including me having to remove the headlining , that’s another story
So will see if my bit of knowledge may help
May i ask what diagnostics are u using plse

Hi
We are using an IID tool to read the errors - It seems a broad range but a lot pointing to drivers side... I am wondering about under the trim.MY2023 Discovery 5 R-Dynamic 3.0

Hi
Think we were pulling out hair out roughly about the same time with the SRS light
I was lucky enough it allowed me to reset the crash data status , allowing the light to go out and indeed spent months slowly tracing all the errors
Is great with heart in mouth finally seeing that airbag light going out
