D3 brake upgrade to Brembo
Do the Range Rover Sport supercharged front calipers fit a D3.
Sorry if this has already been covered, just want to be 100% sure
Thanks

Those calipers with the straight harmonic dampers will fit a d3, need 360mm discs, 19 inch wheels and new or altered back plates, did mine last month and nice improvement

covered many, many times. Just make sure that you get l320 (rrs) ones and not from l322 (ffrr)

Why upgrade to Brembo ? If you buy the spacers used to fit the same calipers on the V8,
but on the bigger diskbrakes used for the V8, you have a cheap and efficient solution to
drasticly increase your braking capability. I had problems stopping my D3 with a horse
box with two horses in it [ just 1800kg towed ], the mechanic proposed this. The discs
for the V8 are dead cheap and everything stays stock JLR.
Best thing : it stops like a concrete wall [almost].

Really?
I keep reading posts where people say they are having problems stopping their cars on standard LR brakes, with and without a trailer.
Is there an issue? These cars are rated for 3.5T braked trailers. Even a 1.8t has to be braked, so what exactly is the issue with the cars brakes?2011 MY D4 HSE

The brakes on my D3 were atrocious when I first got it. Plenty of life in the pads and discs, but slowing down from 70mph was frightening
First upgrade was to 4 pot Brembo's, which made a massive difference to stopping ability and confidence
Whether there was an underlying issue with the previous parts fitted, I don't know, but they were utterly My D3 Build Thread

V8 conversion on mine and its better than std but not as much as people would have you believe.
What really makes the difference is the brake pads, generic brake pads ok, named ones knatts cock better if noticeable at all, EBC greenstuff really really good, but wear fast bloody fast.
Ive got them red ones TRW low dust I think they are and they are not a patch on the Greenstuff, in fact for the first 2/300 miles they were bloody scary, Greenstuff was good within say 50 miles.
Sadly the EBC ones are something like 70/80 quid for the fronts alone.

Never had any problems with the standard brakes on my D3 even with 3.5t on the back, although I did upgrade to D4 (bigger than V8) for the sake of it with a little improvement on braking and a big improvement on pad wear.
Now got a D4 and the brakes are a major improvement, they really bite and with little effort, miles better than the D3 even with D4 calipers and disks for some unknown reason, perhaps someone in the know can explain. It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.

I have to check before I brake, as when I braked for a dog crossing the road once,
I ended up with an Alfa Brera on my towbar [ the heavy duty version ], which I
could see on the rear cam afterwards, had been 50m away.. It just couldn't stop
although it swerved all over the road from the moment I started braking...
But hey : he didn't have much moren then a second anyway..
The dog speeded up dramaticly when he heared me braking and had actually
already jumped into the back of the car of its owners, where it jumped out of
before.. Incredible jump that was...

Yes they do.
I have a set of Brembos on mine at the front and V8 rears.
I also changed the servo to a tdv8 sport one as I was having pressure problems.
