Any D3 owners with a Rosen roof-DVD 9" fitted...??? |
|
Hi all,
I have this Rosen 9" DVD fitted to my roof and I encounter just one little problem...
The system was deliverd with 4 wireless headphones who work just fine, but the trouble starts when
I want to put the sounds on the car-speakers (you would ask yourself why the heck I want to )
Anyway, it's installed so it has to work propperly.
In the manual it's said that you can change the sound-output between headphones and AUX, but the only choise I get is headphones and sound on FM (choise between several Fm-freq.)
Is this because the didn't bother to link the system to the aux or am I wrong?
Anyone with a Rosen has the same issue???

that does sound like its not connected to the aux input, but has a built in FM modulator (small transmitter) which you can tune the headphones or the stereo in to it. Mine isnt a Rosen, but works the same way. I just leave it tuned to channel 9 on the stereo. Works fine, great surround sound!

First of all... have you asked a child how to sort it out!!.... As I'm usually driving the kids know how the thing works better than me.
We had problems getting the sound to work on the speakers... discovered that one of the kids had taken the 'blank' plug out of the aux socket at the rear of the cubby box. Put it back in and Bob's your Uncle. Took ages to work out though. As you slide down the banister of life

Well, the kids are only 6yo so i doubt if they can tell daddy how to work this...
I can get sound via FM but it is really poor, lots of static noise.
I tried all the settings on the player but I only get FM or headphones, can not choose aux like it is explained in the manual
@ Jan, what do you mean by a "blank" socket? I know there isn't anything plyged in into the rear "aux-in"
Could this be the problem? If you havent got the blanking plug ..just plug any 3.5mm jack plug in there ...its only used to make a connection to allow the sound to come through the stereo. G4 Gone ...but not forgotten

Tried a Blank 3.5 Jack in the aux of the cubbybox aswell in the aux of the Rosen, doesn't make any difference...no sound on car-radio (AUX)...
it's even not possible the choose on the Rosen "audio on Car-speakers" only on FM Disco 3 TDV6 Aut. 7 seat, Zambezi silver, Privacy glass, Rosen A9 DVD, Tow-kit, K&N airfilter, Frontrunner Windcheetah + 4xHella Comet 550, tailgate ladder, 5 breaklights , Performance BB6 17" + Duratracs 256/70R17, RLD Skid-plate, Traxide second battery setup, Lightguards, BAS EGR's blank kit, BAS Silicone hose, Black bonnet decal,

Is this a dealer install?
My Rosen is a dealer fitted one. The options you get are "speaker sound" or "headphones".
If you select speaker sound, you switch to Aux and get perfect sound - providing you have the blanking plug or a jack plugged in the rear aux socket/s.
There is no option on my DVD player for FM sound Disco 5 HSE Lux

Stu,
This is the funny part;....like you say it's written in the manual but I can't select "speaker sound", only "speaker sound on FM".....
Guess I must try to figure it out directly thru Rosen.... Asked Beadles today to have a look at my DVD system.
Mine is wired into the Aux system and was missing the blanking plug. Beadles gave me a new little plastic plug and I now have speaker sound!
What a bizarre set up.
No option or need for FM speaker option obviously for me but on the aftermarket ones its common "its probably a virus, you'll be right as rain in a few days and if you're playing sport try to favour the other leg"
