D4 HSE sat nav night mode?

I've googled and even consulted the manual (book, not gears) and haven't found any reference to there being a night-time mode (dark screen) for the sat nav.

Does anybody know if that feature exists? If it does, I can't find it in any of the settings, thanks.

hi
Mine does dim down a bit when the lights come on and I think! it is affected by the panel light dimmer but I may be imagining the last bit Wink I have not found a setting similar to the one on my Merc where it changes the background colours etc. to reduce glare when the lights are on.
I am amazed that with all the technology in the D4 that simple things like this are missed - also can't believe you have to set the date/time manually - I haven't needed to do this on any other car with sat nav for 10 years! Evil or Very Mad

I don't think mine dims when the lights come on, but if it does, it's not enough even with the screen brightness at its most dim. I can't remember if the Freelander 2 had a night-time mode, but probably not.

it wouldn't surprise me if the Range Rover had a night-time mode and RDS-set clock just to differentiate the models.

There is no night setting for screen brightness I am aware of. But my D4 seems to suffer the same fault (probably by design) as my previous RRS V8 which was the screen appears to search for the appropriate brightness going bright and dark seemingly at random. With the outside lights on automatic the lights come on according to outside light levels, but the screen does not seem to react as the lights go on/off.

When adjusting the panel light dimmer, in order to make out the icons on the ventilation buttons in the dark I have to have it on brightest which means the speedo panel is positively radioactive (and the door handles glow), so the screen glare goes pretty much unnoticed.

I finally remembered to test mine last night - It definitely does dim when the panel dimmer is adjusted Smile but!... the amount is relatively small and the screen is still too bright when all the other panel lights are too dim IMHO Sad A separate adjustment or colour scheme change like Merc. and others (or preferably both!) would be perfect.
