Thanks Winger.....
I thought that this was the case for the D3, but having fairy lights it would be different for the D4...
Sorry if this is going off-topic......I can see that DRL (for markets where DRL is law) use the dipped beam, but what function do the fairy lights have then?
Could it be that the fairy lights are used as DRL in markets where there is no current DRL legislation (i.e. UK and most of Europe/world etc) simply because they look cooler than using the dipped beam (and may possibly comply with future legislation)?
I think I'm missing something here to be honest 2006 Discovery 3 TDV6 SE Auto Buckingham Blue

Whatcha mean? Fairy lights = side lights.....they will be on. They serve no other purpose than to be side lights.

I'll go and stand in the corner with a pointy hat....
Thanks....I honestly thought that they were different/separate things on the D4 - I didn't realise they were one and the same 2006 Discovery 3 TDV6 SE Auto Buckingham Blue

I think folks confuse the fairy lights with the front LED's -
You are saying the fairy lights are the side marker lamps under the side view mirrors....
I wanted to see if the front LED's could be used as the DRL's - it would look cool 1984 911 Carrera

This is where the NA market needs to stick to the NA section!
The implementation in Europe is different. What you call fairy lights, in now see, as the side turn indicators over here. We don't have any side vehicle illumination.
With that sorted out, we are on the same page thereafter. The LEDs are the side lights. They will illuminate if the DRL setting is switch to on, but so will the dipped beam headlamps too. There is no way to have the side lamps/LEDs illuminate automatically, if you want those on, just turn the knob!

Police Lights - what are they? |
|
On the listing of the various light settings, I noted Police Lights. I wondered what that means? Is it Wig Wags where the high beams flash from side to side? 2005 LR3 HSE 4.4L AJ-V8 petrol; Traxide Dual Battery; PIAA 2500K Yellow Ion H11 Fog Light bulbs; CounterAct LT-2 Capacitive Corrosion control; LLumar AIR80 Blue clear Infra Red blocking side window film; Liftgate manual release; Schrader Valve "air in" mod to OEM air suspension reservoir tank; Akebono ceramic pads; OEM solid vented discs; LR4 design hitch receiver; Wiggs D4 MOST bluetooth module; Clock on the Dash; 3 Flash signal light mod; Backup Camera; 2015/16 Nav Data update.

I would answer but I have been relegated to the NA section by Wingman. No Yankee participation on that side of the pond, I guess some folks are still bitter about that spat we had a few hundred years ago 8) 1984 911 Carrera

Hi nolift,
Don't get your nose out of joint. All winger was saying was to not assume that everything in the NA spec applies universally.
You take care now,
