D4 SE Tech
Hi everyone, swapped over from the Defender forum!
Back in July I sold the 1989 110 I had restored and treated myself to a bit of comfort!
Bought a MY15 (64 plate) D4 SE Tech in Loire Blue with Almond leather and loving it.
It's proving to be our perfect family vehicle.
Got it booked in to the local dealers for a couple of jobs before the manufacturers warranty runs out at the end of November then it'll be first MOT time.....fingers crossed...
Been on to Warranty Direct and got the Luxury Care package ready to take over from the LR one to hopefully help with any big bills.
A question I can't seem to find the answer too...what is the service internal on this, the service book says 12000 but everything online says 16000, I intend to change the oil in between services as well though.
Anyhow, a pic of said vehicle and see you around, thanks for all the info on here.

welcome!
Hi Russ - welcome to the forum and the Loire blue club - the discerning colour of Discovery 4 owners
The WIKI is a good place to start with detailed info on all things and I think the service interval for the D4 is halfway down the Maintenance Page

Many thanks for the info Nick I'll take a look, haven't come across that bit yet!
Discerning colour indeed, although I've never washed a vehicle so many times before, it just looks great with the sun on it!D4 MY15 (64) SE Tech, Loire Blue

Thanks, it's a great combo for sure, caught my eye when looking around for one, the almond brightens up the interior a lot especially with the walnut trim.D4 MY15 (64) SE Tech, Loire Blue

Good choice all round
My dealer has a 65 plate 110 that they're hanging on to as a loaner and I really enjoy using it (I usually ask for it!) but it's always great to get back in the Disco That the basic design is 60 years apart is pretty apparent, but I like looking out for similarities, like the shape, the proportions and the view from the driver's seat.2011 - 2015: 3 x FL2
2015 - 2017: 2 x D4

Thanks!
I loved my 110 but it only really got used to tow our caravan and a few weekend trips clocking up about 2000 miles a year so decided to sell it and the wife's car and combine the two into one vehicle, the Discovery was the ideal choice.
Personally I think the new Defender will be very much based on the D4 minus a few electrics I hope, just love the boxy shape!D4 MY15 (64) SE Tech, Loire Blue

I have a D4 SE Tech too, bought in March 2015, Aintree Green, not a popular colour so I'm told ! but it drives the same as any other colour
I like the Almond leather interior too. I also have the 'Walnut' panels, again not very popular so I am told but does not affect the driving so who cares
As has been said, the servicing intervals are 16000 or 12 months.
Enjoy it as you will find it a lot more comfy than the 110 !
I drove on the continent last year and on the Autobahn put it in CC and if there hadn't been any other vehicles on the road I am sure I could easily have nodded off because it was so comfy !!

I'll admit...the blue wasn't my first choice of colour, I really wanted grey like my 110 was, I love the grey/black scheme, my wife would of had anything other than silver, she's had silver cars for the last 15 years and wanted a change! After seeing a few blue ones though my wife loved the sparkles
The 600 mile round trip to Cornwall will be an awful lot more relaxing now I'm sure, I was comfy in the Defender but you needed a certain level of concentration and focus to drive it!!
I guess Corris Grey would be my ideal colour so I could do the Grey and black scheme like I painted my Defender in...
