I was curious if anyone had given thought to maximum speed before the height lowering kicks in, more out of curiosity, but may be useful in giving some guidance to LR as to what is wanted. Of course they're going to listen and respond accordingly
From my experience I would suggest a limit of 80km/h. That would cover all the conditions I have encountered, although I suspect that someone doing Saddle Hill dunes may want it even higher
Any other thoughts/suggestions ?What do you mean it won't go there ?

I also had 80km/h in mind.
My recent trip to Kgalagadi with trailer in heavy sand with high middelmannetjie, but otherwise quite reasonable tracks, we could maintain 60 - 70 km/h and keeping off-road height would've made it even easier (maybe even saved the flimsy flaps between spare and exhaust pipes !)
Further suggestion that this "override" only possible while in special programmes to avoid this height and speed on tar - but then nothing stops one selecting gravel/snow on tar Erstwhile - D3 S '07. As has been said LR could do it via the software (if the wanted to) but they won't only markets that are affected are SA and Oz and we are to small.
Only options are mechanical DIY or adjustable rods or wait for someone to hack LRs code.“There are only three sports: bullfighting, motor racing, and mountaineering; all the rest are merely gamesâ€

carverD3,
I've been looking at this rod conversion for some time now.
In the trucking game where you have air ride suspensions, the ride
height control valve has similar rods and rubber ends, which link
the valve control arm to the axle. And you buy a rod kit for it.
What I don't know is, if the hole size in the rubber end will fit
the D3 mount snugly. Also the rubber ends come in straight and
off set mounting holes. Food for thought.D3 bullbar-spots-roof rack with spots-ladder-long range tank-swing out spare wheel carrier- upgraded tow bar-dash console-internal water tank-duel awnings-drawer system & T T.

Is the rod kit fixed or adjustable and if so what size?“There are only three sports: bullfighting, motor racing, and mountaineering; all the rest are merely gamesâ€

Short answer is no. In oz it is illegal to do abody lift on any vehicle with an air bag.
I know someone who has done the air hose md though.“There are only three sports: bullfighting, motor racing, and mountaineering; all the rest are merely gamesâ€

AP,
A body lift can be done, IMHO the angles required for the CV joints to work
will be the main draw back. This is if your van is used as a daily rider, other wize
a spec off roader would be a lot of fun
I'm at work now so i'll take some pic's of the rod set up and post.D3 bullbar-spots-roof rack with spots-ladder-long range tank-swing out spare wheel carrier- upgraded tow bar-dash console-internal water tank-duel awnings-drawer system & T T.

Rod set up on a trailer
The rod/mount holes in the rubber ends are 6mm ID, adjustable by means of
a hose clamp. Only the off set rubber has a through hole for adjustment.D3 bullbar-spots-roof rack with spots-ladder-long range tank-swing out spare wheel carrier- upgraded tow bar-dash console-internal water tank-duel awnings-drawer system & T T.

D3 ones do the same but are much shorter and more difficult to get at. Remotely adjustable ones are what is needed.“There are only three sports: bullfighting, motor racing, and mountaineering; all the rest are merely gamesâ€
