Discovery 3 will not start
Hi,
I hope everyone is coping ok.
I can’t get my discovery fired up. It turned over fine, but will not start.
It hasn’t been started for a few weeks.
The suspension has lowered all the way.
The HDC not available fault is showing.
I also tried a set of solid jump leads linked to a neighbour’s truck but it made no difference.
I’m charging the battery again as it’s gone dead now from trying to start it.
Any thoughts?
Cheers

If the car is down in the weeds, its worth remembering that you are able to programme the third button on the key to run the suspension and pump it up again. Just needs juice in the battery and the hazards turned on and the third button pressed with lock or unlock will raise or lower the car.
Think some codes might be helpful to see whats wrong with it...
Must stop buying shiny toys....

Wow! I didn’t know it could do that. I will give it a go.
Many thanks for your reply and advice.

Update
I managed to get the suspension up after using the key to program the suspension.
However the car will still not start. It cranks over but will not start.
The message on the centre is saying low voltage.
I charged the battery overnight and tried with jump leads yesterday. Still no dice.

So I sprayed some diesel in through the air filter intake and it burst in to life.
It has been sat for a little while, so the fuel must have ran back to the tank.

Worth getting a tester on your battery to see if the battery is OK as the CCA drops significantly on older batteries and the car will not like a battery that is Marginal.
Its a neat trick raising the car from the key, it is especially useful if you are hitching up to the tow bar, plus you dont even need the car running to do itMust stop buying shiny toys....
