When the head unit is on there is no red light to the amp under the seat from the MOST cable, does that point to the head unit? I am trying at attach a video to show the problem

Interesting.

You should get inside and lock the car. Keep and eye on the headunit till it goes off. Say still and wait.

Then press the fob unlock button and quickly look at the optic. Is it red now ? If not then the problem is not the amp

It could be other things though:
bluetooth
LCD nav display
the orange optical pipes

Thanks for the post. I have a similar problem. Checked all the fibre and lights coming from them. Replaced the amp but still no progress. Will a faulty bluetooth module cause this also?

Thanks.

Jim

Yes it could. You can but fibre optic connectors to bridge out the module to prove the fault

Thanks for your reply.

I suppose I'm fortunate (Maybe not!) in a way in that I have three Discos' So I was able to exchange the Amp, Head Unit, display, and bluetooth unit into another vehicle and they all function there. Similarly , I was able to test all of the functioning ones from the known working vehicle into the problematic one and there is no sound. Would this suggest that there is a MOST cabling issue? I have ordered a test loop from eBay but was curious as to whether after changing all the components you think it could only be the MOST cables. If so can you point me to where I can purchase a new harness?

Many thanks,

Jim.

You can test them by shining a torch in one end (eg display) and the looking at the amp to see if one side has had a white light.

Or see test description above.

Also check if the above mentioned devices have power.

What is the display doing ? Blank? Lr logo ? Normal ?

An update. The test loop arrived and all the loops are fine. I have swapped all the modules

Screen
Head Unit
Amp
Bluetooth

with another Disco that I have and in which they all operate. I have installed them one at at time in the problem vehicle and then collectively and they do not operate. I install the "Problem" units in my other disco and they operate fine. I'm thinking mice and a chewed copper cable but not sure. The display has the LR logo constantly and there is no volume or indicator of same on the head unit.

Its a head scratcher for sure.

Grateful for any assistance. Thanks.

you need to check out your optical cables.

I think I described above maybe?

Shine a torch into one orange lead connector, and see if you see white on the next module connector.
You will only see it on one side at a time.

They are in a loop.

If you do it between the headunit and LCD connector first , you should get an idea of what I mean and how it works

Some countries also have a traffic TMC module next to the Bluetooth
Which should be swapped to eliminate.

Check it and all modules have power
