I don't own a road bike. I don't own a GoPro. I don't like the way the cyclist addressed the driver either. There are other ways to go about dealing with the matter and - honestly - there is a lot worse going on on our road.
2 observations though... Lots of comments about jumped up cyclists with GoPros everywhere. How many Discovery owners are driving around with cameras on the windscreen too????
Secondly, will be amazed if the Police are interested. Few months ago I joined the M40 from the 25 at 5.30am. Overtook a car in middle lane which strayed from its lane as I was going by and nearly hit me. I slammed horn down, looked over, and driver had iPhone on a windscreen mount, ear buds in, watching a MOVIE! I pulled in behind and dialled 111, reported it and gave the offending car's exact position, tand the times at his speed he'd reach the next 4 junctions, courtesy of the LR satnav. I stayed behind him as he kept weaving, plus I wanted to watch him get pulled - thought I'd have a bit of excitement in my journey. But 1+hr later I was still behind him and left to join M42, not a single panda car the whole way. And he was still watching his movie... Now that I felt was truly dangerous, but presume the Police had neither the time, interest or inclination to want to pull him.747_JK

Surrey Police have messaged Mr Williams to say an officer will be in touch for the footage and to identify the woman.
A Surrey Police spokeswoman said: "Police will be looking in to it a lot more. Surrey Road Cops will also tweet back to the poster with something of that affect so people can see police will look into it."
Anyway, I prefer toast as a drive-time snack

Question - Is it actually illegal to eat whilst driving? In my opinion I don't think it is.

You are correct I am quoting my opinion and that was the whole point of my original post, it took a long time for legislation to catch up with how static cctv was being installed and used, it is my opinion that it now needs to catch up with legislating on how intrusive it is acceptable to be with mobile cctv

If you ask DG nicely, I'm sure he'll type out the relevant section of Wilkinson's Road Traffic Offences wherein examples of what can constitute careless driving are listed, including eating & drinking (Vol.1 para 5.47). Time flies like an arrow; fruit flies like a banana
The law is clear. When you are driving with the engine on......
So if she has auto stop/start and the engine was off at that point she did nothing wrong?
Personally I can't see she's done much wrong, definitely no worse than all the feckwits on their phones, tablets etc. whilst driving. So she was eating in stationary traffic, probably gets stuck in it every morning and knows she has plenty of time to finish it before she'll need to go over 2mph. It was a bowl of something, don't think you can see any more detail than that from the video, could possibly be no worse than eating a packet of crisps whilst driving and I suspect there's many on here that are guilty of that.
As for the cyclist.... strikes me as the sort of unwanted 'do gooder' that gets punched a lotThe End

Essentially Lex you have to be in proper control of the vehicle at all times irrespective of eating, drinking smoking, on your mobile, recieving a topless hand shandy ...you name it ...technically you could get a ticket for anything which causes the loss of that "proper control" 21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021

The ignition is on and the car is in a state to be driven i.e. it is not parked with the handbrake on and ignition/engine off. Hence people stopped in laybys have been done for using mobile phone whilst pulled up and parked but with the engine on.
She did a lot wrong and the Daily Mail is after her (as well as Surrey Police )
