Any one know if it is OK to drive at access height?
I have a suspension fault and the vehicle will not raise, the nearest Landrover dealer is a 230 Km drive. TDV6 SE (Ausie Spec) COOOL Chawton White.

I drove from Esperance to Kalgoorlie at access height [400km].
it was ok!
just a bit floaty
just don't go too fast and you should be right.
The car was not damaged by it in any way.
Good luck! Have a nice day!

BTW, if you get car sick, take it easy.
The car doesn't just sit at access height. it kind of 'floats' as you drive.
It can be quite unnerving at first.
The road holding is ok, it's the body itself that floats. Have a nice day!

ask the dealer and if you don't feel comfortable ask LRA to transport to the dealer. Thats what you have paid for. “There are only three sports: bullfighting, motor racing, and mountaineering; all the rest are merely gamesâ€

anthill, try lr assist and let us know how you get on.
when I had my first problem, they put me through to NRMA!!! fine if you are in NSW, but not much good here!
when I later had complete failure, lr said 'we can't say anything untill we've plugged it in to see if there's anything wrong' I questioned them, but was told 'you have to bring the car to us and then we'll see'.
seems to me they'll assist as long as you're not too far away! Have a nice day!

LR Assist is already paid for you do not have to go to them, they should come to you. and tow you if they cannot get you moving.
check the terms and conditions
http://www.landrover.com.au/assets/au/en/O...stomer.pdf
I like the one where they say they will not tow over 2.5 tonne. they may be on a sticky wicket since they make vehicles over that weight unladen. “There are only three sports: bullfighting, motor racing, and mountaineering; all the rest are merely gamesâ€

It was LR assist who tnrsferred me to NRMA, who were no help at all as they were in Sydney.
I was LR who told me the later stuff when i called them after the problems with LR assist.
It may be fine in principle, but LR assist was absolutley no practical help to me. Being in Sydney, NRMA is right there for you and no problem.
I am a small business owner who relies on this car for work, doing around 50K a year. I haven't got the time or money to sit around waiting for LR assist to work themselves out. I can read all the 'terms and conditons' in the world, but they are useless to me if the people running the system can't get their act together. Have a nice day!

they have to provide the service. if they do not next time find your own tow company and charge it to land rover.
have you complained to LRA over the problem.
if we don't whinge nothing will change. LR assist must provide the sevice to you that they have contracted to do.
don't accept this as a solution. they need to provide the tow service if they cannot get to you. “There are only three sports: bullfighting, motor racing, and mountaineering; all the rest are merely gamesâ€

I was told by the dealer that the car was still driveable at access height and therefore LR Assist would not recover the vehicle. Have a nice day!

lr assist is nationwide and replaces the service NRMA, RACV, RACQ etc provide, putting you in touch with nrma is not even good enough they should contact a service provider for you.
do you know what they would do next time you ring from WA? “There are only three sports: bullfighting, motor racing, and mountaineering; all the rest are merely gamesâ€

LR Assist is sub-contracted to various providers, just the same as holdenwise and others. They couldn't find any providers near me so they defaulted to NRMA. Who, in turn, told me to ring up Landrover.
I haven't got the time to p*ssfart around with symantics and pedantics and inefficient systems. Have a nice day!

sorry , if I mis-understood I thought that it was a complete failure, not limp home mode. “There are only three sports: bullfighting, motor racing, and mountaineering; all the rest are merely gamesâ€

is there a WA motoring organisation?
they should use them or maybe join them and bill it to LR assist!!!! “There are only three sports: bullfighting, motor racing, and mountaineering; all the rest are merely gamesâ€

The complete failure was with the compressor. It gave up the ghost completely and left me on a soft beach at access height (when I had been at extended). TR was not available either as the Steering Angle Sensor had failed. The engine was still running and the wheels still went round, so they basically considered it to be my problem. The dealer almost intimated that the problem might be with me. Have a nice day!

Back when I used to work for the government, I was in a commodore in a country town when the car switched itself off and all the warning lights came on. I rolled down the hill and tried to start the car again and it went. about 50m from the Holden dealer it conked out again and wouldn't start.
I walked to the dealer and said 'can you look at my car?'
They said'no, ring holdenwise"
I rang holdenwise who sent out the local RAC.
THe RAC man looked under the bonnet, tried to start the car and said'yes, there's defintitely a problem" He then took off.
A few minutes later the DP and a mechanic from the dealer came around the corned and said'now we are allowed to look at it!'
Convoluted contracts! Have a nice day!
