We swear by Smidge. Developed specially for the Scottish midges at Edinburgh University.

I think there's a midge forecast link on their website:

https://www.smidgeup.com

Thumbs Up

PS. Far superior to Avon Skin So Soft, which we always used before.

Someone told me Avon Skin so Soft no longer has Citronella in its ingredients, and is therefore not as effective time anyway....
Anyway, why did they only target the midges at Edinburgh University ? Wink

Dumfries and Galloway not really a haven for midges anyway compared to further north so it should be OK. A cocktail of Smidge and Boots Natural Citronella seems to keep most things at bay.

Worked for me on the plains of western Canada, where the midges and mozzies fly in thick clouds!

Because it was after midnight and I'd had a few alcoholic beverages. Very Happy

Take some Avon Skin So Soft it's great stuff at keeping the midges at bay, even the angling shops sell in the Highlands.
LRs are a fond memory, apart from the maintenance.

You've not tried Smidge then? It's far superior to Avon SSS, which we used for several years before hearing about and buying Smidge.
