A Dusty Day Out in Wales
Having a few days in a strange foreign country where they all talk funny
Anyway, it would be rude not to explore some of their dusty welsh byways and UCRs while I'm here

Started up the Byway from the NW corner of Nant-y-moch reservoir then turned left on to the UCR to Llyn Syfidrin had a paddle and gave the dog a swim before continuing west on the UCR.
All suitable for a standard D4 but AT tyres and off road driving experience recommended for the Byway.MY2022 D5 HSE D300 - with extra nice bits added

Thanks will have a look on the os maps.
Plenty of experience offroad just not in a d3. Trying to keep it nice. I do have a 80 series landcruiser for offroad when I get the turbo back together

Excellent! I’ve driven those lanes many times. Most of them are Disco friendly.
Lynn Syfidryn is a great spot for a wild camp. Unfortunately some have trashed it over the years. How’s it looking there now Jon?

Apart from the discarded barbeques, burnt pile of debris and vehicle tracks going off piste it's very nice.MY2022 D5 HSE D300 - with extra nice bits added

The last 3 pics from the first set is a lane called pheasant pen steps, I'd been told they'd done some work on it but looking at those pics they've completely flattened it.
It used to be a real challenging lane and not one to attempt on your own .Just remember:-

There was a distinct lack of steps and pheasants although the map has Banc Llety Ifaw Hen written on it. "Smooth gravel track with sheep" would be a better name now. MY2022 D5 HSE D300 - with extra nice bits added
