When referring/replying to a quote posted much earlier in the thread why is it an unnecessary quote? If I did not quote what I was replying to it would be out of context.....
Ok just realised in this case I was wrong
My aim in being on the forum is to be helpful so take it easy...

ABI website data just shows it now as a TDV6 Ins Group 41. I'll likely part exchange at the dealer anyway so as long as I'm properly insured, may well leave it. I guess the alternative is to reject the car as it's not as described or just change the badge !!2010 MX-5 2.0 Sport Tech PRHT

Our brand spanking new D4 and likewise V5 says TD - just as a matter of interest the insurance bureau's list does not have a SV, discussed this with my insurer and they said they could put SV on the insurance but that would cost an extra £75.00 as it would have to be manually put in.

After my dealer (Farnell's in Leeds) sent me the email from LR, I did a quick check on the ABI website and a small sample of online insurance sites (i.e. those that let you select the car before your address - read junk mail list) and there is only a TDV6 designation. Accordingly, I've put this to bed and no longer worried. I'll likely p/x for a D% or whatever comes next/available in 2-3 years anyway.2010 MX-5 2.0 Sport Tech PRHT

Here we have
Discovery 4 TDV6 DPF with M in VIN code SALLAAAM6DA?????? build date 2012-12-12, 8-speed auto box
and other
Discovery 4 SDV6 DPF with G in VIN code SALLAAAG4BA?????? build date 2010-10-13, 6-speed auto box.
I checked ECU/PCM module information through SDD function and compared both of these different ECU/PCM versions. I could have TDV6 updated with earlier SDV6 ECU/PCM software to newer TDV6 but I didn't do that because of different gearboxes. My question is can I upload these files and have no problems? Should I wait till I can compare TDV6 8-speed and SDV6 8-speed. If I'll do successful with your help then I will writeup how to do it with SDD, I hope with Faultmate as well.
According to Pete's information

Look at the 8th digit of the vin.
F = 245bhp non dpf
G= 245bhp with dpf
M = 210bhp with dpf
And if you have a M i can make power of the G for 499+vat which is a lot cheaper than the dealer can lol.

Looking to trade in my Disco 4 and am a bit confused.
Badge on the back says HSE SDV6. Dealer says it's a TDV6 (as does reg docs).
VIN No is SALLAAAG3BA57xxxx.

Can anyone tell me wether it's TD or SD? Or if it matters when it comes to price!
