One to two second bursts of drivers seat movement is as good as it gets for the drivers seat. Many have tried to overcome this problem but I don’t think anyone has found an easy fix. TBH you get used to it very quickly.

I've been having a read around this topic this morning and this seems like the most relevant post to drag up from the past.

Whats to stop you using a live and earth to supply the switches and from there the relevant motors and remove the memory module and any other superfluous bits/ECU involvement from the equation completely? If there isnt a suitable feed in the vicinity, could a fused wire be run from the battery to a relay bank (if necessary) controlled by the switch pack made up under the seat?

It’s probably do able but I think most are happy to leave it with the bursts. It has also been suggested to get the switch panel of a passenger seat from a left hand drive and put that into the drivers seat. If you find a simple bypass take loads of pictures and post up a how to Thumbs Up

Haha. Will do. I haven't got the car yet. I am fairly keen on a basic spec D3 model though as there aren't many HSE options that bother me, but the one thing I would like is to be able to tilt the drivers seat base as I find the position more comfortable. The models I am looking at only have manual seats. Our D2 seat bases wont tilt and it annoys me. The Range Rover Classic seats I have fitted in my 110 have a manual tilt on them so it baffles me they didn't add this to later models with manual seats!

I’ve fitted leather seats into an Xs Commercial. It had memory, I sourced an 8 way switch from a left hand drive and I then went to a LR dealer and ordered a loom from a lhd seat. I don’t recall the PN but I jut looked at the parts list with the counter guy and picked the one that matched 8way non memory. Worked perfect! Had to change some wires as the plugs didn’t match fully under the base but from memory it was only two. I had to change a feed to the lumber control as this wasn’t fed via the new loom via the multiplug. I have also connected the heated seats at the front. This included new loom spliced in from another motor and the hvac controller. Also changed the negative under the seat at the big multiplug. There are a few how to’s on here, black need connecting to black&green.
My next mission is to connect up the rear heated seats, is there a module for them? I guess if the wiring is there it’s a case of plug seats in and fit the switch!? Or do I need a module. If so then is there one for both seats or two separate?
TIA

Are they fitted on the seat or under the carpet?

well on my RRS

when you fold the base forward, (RRS seats are different) and expose the area under the seat, you see it.
Fitted near the round tube IIRC.
On the outside edge of the car.
Look for rectangular connector

at least 3 on ebay

Good news, I’ve just gone out to start installing and the modules are on the seats! Fingers crossed the loom is there. If not I’ll make my own. Cheers
