Euan I had been increasingly unhappy with the 545a hesitation update patch put on back in June and have reported as such on here. I spoke with my GSTD service team and they said to just have the latest stock software put on and see if that improved matters. In the event they put the latest stock engine and gearbox software on and after a week I can't see how it could be more perfect ....seamless silky smooth changes 21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021

Interesting......I only asked as I feel the "fix" is not as effective as it was at the beginning.....the gearbox is definitely holding low gears longer again from "cold" which it did before the patch was applied
I was very pleased with the "hesitation" 545 fix at the start,to the extent I described it as Sport-lite,and there was an appreciable improvement....but I am less convinced at the moment (although there is no sign of the dreaded junction hesitation)
I'm not unhappy with the gearbox,I just feel its lost a bit of the initial smoothness "Better to remain silent and be thought a fool, than to speak out and remove all doubt" ?.....what rubbish...

Oops, DG I was pretty sure that dealers used to update their diagnostic tools on line, so that they have the latest updates versions, isn't that so anymore?

Why "oops" ? ...the info for the above is on TOPIx Quote:DATE: 10 / 2013
Quote:The latest diagnostic system, Land Rover Symptom Driven Diagnostics (SDD) was introduced in 2010 to cope with the many additional ‘modules’ fitted to the latest range of vehicles and the ‘thousands’ of fault codes they support. Much of this diagnostic system is pre-emptive and can identify possible faults before they occur. Constantly updated on-line the system always remains fully up to date with all modifications and vehicle software updates. 21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021

DG - I think you are saying that the car is better than when new
Is that correct ?
And who are GSTD then ?
Glad your motor is on song now - as you may remember I have steveraspberrys 'old' car and it is fine but i cannot drive it quite as I would like to without some lurching, hesitation and a little drive line shunt
It can all be smoothed out with driving technique no bother but I can't help feeling there is something better out there software wise

@promitheus - no worries - maybe they do online and hard copy DVD ?
@sacimddx - Yes I am saying that if feels much, much better than I ever recall - GSTD are my dealer "Guy Salmon Thames Ditton" ...but tbh any dealer would have the same software I would think so if you are remotely unhappy with the drive then I can recommend asking for the same thing. 21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021

hesitation on our new 1100 miles D4.....falls outside the chassis numbers in LTB545v2 as it starts 68.......
pete at landrover replied today to advise he has asked at the factory and there are NO campaigns or work going on towards a new/revised technical bulletin.
hope this is going to start a long drawn out affair to resolve
dealer advises...the computer in the car is adaptive...ie it will adjust to my driving style..overtime..
yippee....what happens when maddam drives or anyone else for that matter when its adapted to me
discuss.

The adaptive feature of the box evolves every 200 miles or so in any case ...so if you or another driver changes the driving style it will soon reflect that. 21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021

You could just ask for the latest stock software and see if it makes any difference
anyway ....this is an interesting fact with the 8 speed
Quote:A new feature of the 8 speed transmission is decoupling of the transmission when the vehicle is at a standstill. Normally the transmission remains in gear with the torque converter slipping and the vehicle is prevented from moving by applying the brake. The new system disengages one of the transmission clutches and only a minimum rotating load remains. This has the effect of further reducing fuel consumption.
