FBH IID Question
Hi,
I used my IID tool to check the operation of my FBH, and got the message below when I did a system test.
However when I opened the bonnet the FBH appeared to be working as the exhaust was hot and entered its cool down fan phase once I turned the cars ignition off.
Any ideas as to why I get that error message?

Funnily enough I did the same last night, I did the full test first and it came up ok, I then did the Fuel Prime test and got the same error message.
It was definitely working though and worked again timed this morning.
May be nothing to worry about....

Do you have the climate turned off?
According to the manual this is required for this test (although I seem to recall successfully running the test with it on!)

Actually yes, the auto climate was off and only running on the manual fan setting.
Will try with it in auto climate.

Just to clarify the climate is supposed to be turned completely off for the test

Why are you priming when you say it is working ok?- or am I reading wrong!It can when others can't,

Had you started the engine? On mine I got that message as the FBH was already started by the car

No I only knew it was working after I did the test and actually looked and left the FBH exhaust.

I can’t remember, will try again just to see if I get the error message, but st least I know the FBH is actually working which is the main thing

Don’t bet on that.... I can test mine all ok and it will start on its own in cold weather.... but it shuts down after 2-3 minutes no matter what I do.

Erea - Have you tried forcing air through the FBH once it starts up?
My own FBH was running for 2 mins on it's controller then shutting down and forcing air through it from a can of duster spray worked wonders and now it fires up and runs beautifully.
It took a few attempts, but each attempt got longer and more and more smoke was exhausted until it ran continuously. I used half a can of spray.

That thread says you can even blow into the FBH using a pipe, a compressor, or as I did a can of duster spray. LinkyMods:

I pulled the silencer pipe off cleared faults removed the fuse waited for car to go to sleep replaced fuse then start4s the fbh as it's clicking blow hard for a few secs then just blow nicely it will fire up do this several times and it's worked great since .

I tried with brake cleaner, probably nearly set car on fire got 2-3 min
I tried taking it apart and cleaning it wasn’t dirty got 2-3 min
I tried the Laptop.... didn’t get far must try again still 2-3 min
I haven’t given up just paused for a while

Try tweaking the CO2 settings during the 2 mins it does run.
That earlier link has the details. Tweaking CO2 was my next step but perceverence with the air blowing really got things moving for me and it's fine now.
Keep at it, especially if it does initially start a burn. At least the glow plugs working if it starts to burn. Mods:

Hello.
As Narpy said the co2 tweak work fine , if possible to acces.
But : NEVER , NEVER set the co2 to a lower value as it was , if you do that , you'll kill the Webasto.
That's what I'd do in my first D3 8 years ago...Marco.
