FBH starts but wont stay running - UPDATED Arrrrgggggghhhhh
After a non start a couple of weeks ago and finding out that all my glowplugs are dead (A job for warmer weather), it was time to get an FBH remote and make sure the FBH was working... Which it wasn't...
Altox fitted and all setup fine, works via txt or the app no problems...
Bought the diagnostics cable off here, connected it up with no problems, all components appear to work fine in their individual tests, fuel pump seems to be pumping the correct amount of fuel...
Start the parking heater and it makes all the sounds it should, pre start fan checks, then goes to run, you can hear the burner running, lots of exhaust smoke, and then cuts out after a couple of seconds... This is all it will do...
I ran 3 tests on the video below:
1st as is, i noticed the battery was dipping low (time to order a replacement me thinks).
2nd attempt was with the engine running so good voltage.
3rd Attempt was introducing air into the intake without the intake pipe attached.
No joy on any of them... All 3 attempts produced a 'Failed to start' fault and then locked the FBH out..
Any further ideas before the inevitable strip down?

You can tweak the CO2 settings and it should run.
There's a post here somewhere showing how.

Clear the faults and keep blowing air into the thing, hopefully it'll run and you can tinker with it.
Failing that, it's a strip and clean job. Mods:

Awesome, thank you... I might give it a try upping the air pressure a bit...
I guess there is a possibility it is just too coked up to run once the glow plug goes out, we shall see...

Strip and clean details here: https://www.disco3.co.uk/forum/robbies-gui...36766.html.
You could also try a little Easy Start too. Some posters have had success with that. Mods:

Hi
Try a software reset, ie take out fuse 28, in box near battery, for a few minutes and try to run again.
Keep doing it and eventually it will fire up with webasto software and run constantly. You can try squirting a bit of damp start into air intake but it is a bit risky re back fires etc. Your problem could be that the FBH is burning but the Flame Detector is not seeing a flame so is aborting the cycle. Do a fuel pump prime and a test the fuel pump before starting it this is almost like using a choke on an older engine. You will get lots of smoke.
It took me three weekends of messing about like this to get it to run and when it does let it burn as long as possible.
You are looking for a red light on the FD "bulb2 in the webasto software
Regards
Jonathan

Take the fuel pipe off where it connects to the fbh and see what fuel if any is coming out.
If no fuel, remove fuel pipe from back of pump (underneath car on top of cross member under drivers seat have to a remove cover) and blow down it, you should here it bubling in tank. mine was blocked, but good blow cleared it, its been ok ever since ............well until this year

I have already tried running it after a prime, fuel flow is good, tried a little squirt of easy start, it backfired a touch but still refused to start...
I have now ordered the bits to replace it in the water circuit and i'm going to rebuild/clean it while i have a week off work

So, finally got to look at the FBH today, still doing the same thing so out it came...
Opened it up and it was filthy, massive lumps of soot/carbon and general filth inside
Thought to myself 'no wonder this cant stay alight!' and gave it a good clean
Didnt take the top off the burner as was losing daylight but cleaned up the rest and removed the glow plug to find it spotless and put it back in...
Annnnnnnnd it still doesnt work lol
Component diagnosis tests through the Webasto software shows all individual parts working just fine, didnt run the fuel pump so as not to flood it...
FBH fires up fine, runs for a very short period of time and then cuts out, managed this another 4/5 times sometimes trying to introduce additional air and still nothing, but now it's just flagging up a 'glow plug short' code and wont start at all...
So, do I replace just the burner, try a second hand unit, or fork out for a replacement? :/Maya Gold MY05 HSE, Duratracs, RLD Sump Guard, RLD CB Aerial Mount/AE6110, RLD Spare Anti Theft, Altox FBH Remote, T-Maxx Split Charging System, Rear Power Panel, Rock Sliders...

Have you got an FBH controller installed or are you just relying on the Webasto software to fire it up?Mods:

Pull the fuse in the fuse box next to the battery, leave it out for a few mins, replace and try again with the FBH.Mods:
