Front near side heated seat not working! |
|
They say you only ever get one car in your life time that never gives any trouble! Looks like my luck ran out when my Sport departed, two years of fantastic trouble free motoring. Not a chance with the new D4 only 1200 miles and its back at the sealers! First cold morning the wife switches on the heated seat........oh it aint workin me lud!!!! That coupled with the auto steering wheel retract function not working and a rear door seal worn through its not looking too promising.
Had an update from the sealer....... waiting on LR technical, we have opened a case file......... what the flecks all that about! We need your car for a day or two! Oh well back to owning a dodgy 50k motor. D4 3.0 HSE cameras,Hybrid TV, 20" alloys, heated wheel, privacy, Tow pack.

Quick update, dealer says a wire in the seating loom is missing They are waiting on LR technical for direction.......what ever that means? A possible explanation is it has a "preproduction" loom fitted. I wonder if Winger could shed any light on this issue?
I would expect all new owners to be checking their seats for heat D4 3.0 HSE cameras,Hybrid TV, 20" alloys, heated wheel, privacy, Tow pack.

Sounds more likely that the wrong loom was fitted.
There would appear to be a number of assembly issues cropping up. Clearly LR QC isn't what it should be.

Winger would you know how much of a job it would be to replace the loom with the correct one?
My concern is the level of strip down required? D4 3.0 HSE cameras,Hybrid TV, 20" alloys, heated wheel, privacy, Tow pack.

I suspect that the entire interior will have to be removed, probably back at the factory. They will then try to put is all back again as they did the first time, and will find some bits won't fit and there will be a number of screws left over at the end - which they will scratch their heads about and then chuck in the bin.......
Seriously, though, probably means taking out the seat and fitting a new loom back to the connectors. Shouldn't be a huge issue to be honest.

For a minute I was having deja vu, my old D3 had massive water ingress issues and had the whole interior removed and all carpet and electronics replaced took two weeks.
Sold it straight after that!!!
Just spoken to the dealer who say LR want them to mod the loom in house, apparently this is some what standard pactice!(Their words)
I have asked if I can have a new loom. I Will wait with baited breath! D4 3.0 HSE cameras,Hybrid TV, 20" alloys, heated wheel, privacy, Tow pack.

The saga continues The dealer tells me they need the car for a week LR have told them to carry out a series of "continuity" tests......... so what happened to replacing the loom? Why oh why did I sell my Sport? To top it they asked me if a FL2 was ok as a courtesy car........ No guesses to my response D4 3.0 HSE cameras,Hybrid TV, 20" alloys, heated wheel, privacy, Tow pack.

At long last they have sorted the problem It turned out to be a pin configuration issue in the multi-plug on the seat loom, they re-located the said pin and hey presto it works.........happy days, they only ended up having it for a day. Well done chaps
I have to say I really do enjoy driving it, especially the 27 mpg on local runs oh and it tows the monster shed as well as the RRS did D4 3.0 HSE cameras,Hybrid TV, 20" alloys, heated wheel, privacy, Tow pack.
