Fitted new boots on my girl today (well she's had them for 32K miles) and have got around the suspension cleverness.
Good prices and staff entertaining with their own brand of banter
Will use them from now on... don't like those large 'we know it all mate' multi outlet shops. Personality rather lacking and you don't even have the boss make you a coffee !

Cause they apply the 'Chelsea tractor' tax to all their work.

I just could not stop myself from keeling over backwards when I read this and feel compelled to answer.
As a merely mortal customer living in Central London I found them remarkably arrogant, pushy and cavalier - so much so that despite being only a few miles from home and having an ample supply of stock I deliberatley sought out an out-of-town dealer in the form of Hadley Green up in Barnet. Miles and miles from where I live but frankly there was no way I would have parted with my hard-earned after-tax cash to Stratstone, however convenient that may have been. To be clear I can't speak for other Stratstone nation-wide dealers. I am merely referring to the Mayfair dealer as that is the extent of my experience with Stratstone.
So let me pitch in for Hadley Green and encorage anyone fed up with Central London dealers to vote with their feet and trek up to Barnet. They are a wonderful breath of fresh air and you won't be disappointed. WinchMan

Same ones... Wranglers
Used them on the Freelander's for years and never let me down yet on the D3. Latest 32K miles (rears would be good for a while longer in fact). used one of the rears as the spare.

Well Done to Guy Salmon Landrover Thames Ditton - had my software upgrade done today - faultless service as always and one exceptionally muddy disco returned in pristine condition.

GOOD DEALER (and a less than good) |
|
This week having jumped onto this site (I'd given up on Landrover to be honest - but good mate steered me here) I called OTTONS Landrover in SALISBURY , saying that I'd had a short test drive in a D3 but was unimpressed with the ride. The salesman instantly said that the short time that I'd had in the vehicle was not long enough to try out the new vehicle and why don't I try one of theirs for a half day or so... offering several options over the next few days.. FANTASTIC. I may now buy... Good friendly attentive staff. Even a mechanic smiled and shared a joke.
Compared to HUNTERS Landrover in SOUTHAMPTON . where I have purchased 2 D2's value around £65K, had issues around getting support when my rear suspension collapsed ("Call landrover support, they'll give you a car!") - could NOT after 3 weeks of asking give me a D3 for a day!!
Will I buy depends on lots of other things.... If I buy who'll get the first chance and all the service etc... OTTONS!! Had loads of Landrovers and considering coming back after going to 'the dark side'. The Landcruiser was good!

More and more dealers read this site now and maybe this will help them see want customers want from a dealership, mine as I've said before (Harwoods Pulborough) do a great job. We all know that things do go wrong but it is how the dealership help you through it that matters - although the way you respond to the can also be part of the equation.
