Top Marks to Hillendale, Lancs (part of the Prestons group) - they always give me excellent service. Part of the reason for my choice of D3 was the service I'd received from them with my 8 year old Disco1 ES (180,000 miles!)
I'd decided to change the Disco1 for a Disco2 with lower mileage, and went to see what used stock they had. They offered me a test-drive in the D3 (no obligation) and I fell in love with it. 2 hours later (and with pockets £38k lighter!) I walked out and started counting the days to delivery. Meanwhile, my Disco1 engine (TDi) died spectacularly on the M40. Hillendale reduced the trade-in value from £4000 to £2500, which was very reasonable of them as the car was now virtually scrap! I've had a few teething problems (I expect this from a relatively new model), but all have been fixed quickly and perfectly.
I've also used Prestons BMW (their sister-dealership), when I had a Z4, and their service was equally exceptional...2005 Disco 3 TDV6 7 seater. Leather, DVD, fully colour-coded.

Have just taken delivery of a third vehicle from JV Like Land Rover.
Still have the Defender 90 CSW, and now a Discovery 3 TDV6 HSE.
JV Like's beat the deal from 3 other competitive sources - and gave some freebie stuff - e.g. mats (carpet and loadspace cover plus netting) along with a fair value on my p/x and were again excellent to deal with.
Recommend particularly Dave Haynes (knows his stuff) and Andrew (Spike) Like - who's a committed LR off roader with a Camel 110 and a number of other toys - (perks of the business...!!?)
Service guys are comitted, efficient and reliable over the last 12 years (consistent too)
I'm moving back north (to Preston) but will still use JV Like for all future purchases where I can..
I'm not related in any way to the business - just believe good service and customer focus deserves recognition.
They even made the point of personally thanking me for my business...

STRATSTONE SWANSEA
APPRECIATE THAT EACH INDIVIDUALS EXPERIENCE IS DIFFERENT, EVEN FROM THE SAME DEALER. I'VE JUST TAKEN DELIVERY OF A NEW D3V6 S AUTO FROM STRATSTONE OF SWANSEA AND AM VERY PLEASED WITH THEIR ATTITUDE AND SERVICE (SO FAR ANYWAY!). NO PROBLEM WITH LOAN OF DEMONSTRATORS BEFORE PURCHASE, THEY LENT ME TWO, AN AUTO AND THEN A MANUAL FOR 24 HRS EACH - ADMITTEDLY ON MY INSURANCE, BUT COMPARED WITH SOME PEOPLES EXPERIENCE I FARED VERY WELL. IF YOU ARE A SERIOUS PURCHASER THEY SEEM TO TREAT YOU WELL.THEY ARE NOT THE KEENEST ON PRICE BUT THEY ARE IN BUSINESS AFTER ALL - SHOP AROUND FOR PRICES AND THEN SPEAK TO THEM - THEY ALWAYS HAVE THE OPTION TO SAY NO. WELCOME HAS ALWAYS BEEN WARM AND FRIENDLY NOT AT ALL SUPERIOR. IF YOU NEED A NAME TO ASK FOR, I DEALT WITH PHIL JAMES.
