It is indeed, but not too sweet. Basically 2ft lengths of sugar cane put through an electric mangle and juice squashed out.

Another hot day today, now up to 32c and nice & sunny. Basically scorchio.
Another couple of signs you don’t see in your local uk park.

Which lead to discussions re what would happen if we saw a croc. The conclusion was I didn’t have to outrun the croc, just out run SWMBO. And if that required cheating by tripping up said SWMBO then that was considered perfectly sound tactics.
Didn’t see any crocs, unfortunately. Most kids there were keen to see crocs, but the crocs were prob still digesting the little ‘uns from yesterday.
Saw a few Malaysian Water Monitor Lizards. Obviously on holiday as they were in Singapore, not Malaysia.

And more than a few spiders!!

Lastly a little snake. No idea what it was (snake wise) but it was still while I took the pic, which was nice.

Lunch was an oyster omleette, basically an omelette with a few oysters. The sum of the parts was not greater than the individual parts, bit mah. No pic. Now looking at scoff for tonight.

Just back from a bit of a food crawl locally to the hotel. Pretty busy as it’s Sunday evening but well worth it.
First queue, in a food market with plastic stools that would have seemed small to Richard Hammond.

for roast duck & pork and rice.

and a nice sized gottle of geer. The locals have beer with ice in it, I’ll try that next time.

Second queue for noodle soup type dish with prawn, pork, tofu etc. And the fried drumstick and wing were ace.

Plus a couple of custard tarts, very nice but forgot to take a pic.
That’s all for now, just trying to get drinks ordered.

If you want to try something kinda of local(ish), ask for “milo”. It’s a malt based milk chocolate drink. I’ve seen it in Malaysia, Singapore and Indonesia. You can get it as a powder, too, but it is available at pretty much any convenience store pre-bottled.

Rather addictive, TBH.
See if you can find Bandung somewhere, it’s milk and syrup. Looks pink. Boba or bubble tea is also something I think you can’t get in Europe.
There’s Tang which is a powder juice concentrate... we don’t have it in Finland but I think it’s US origin so probably explains why it’s so popular in Asia.

If it’s addictive it’ll be bad for my svelt figure, might have to give it a swift try then put on the AVOID list. Bit like SWMBO & Nutella, she knows she’d be instantly addicted so avoids it like the plague.

Nutella should be on the controlled substances list.... 8)
Lidl (not sure if you have them in U.K., they’re a German supermarket chain) has something which is called choco duo which is almost like Nutella that is also really awesome.

My ex-SIL mixes a substance called Fluff with Nutella, Fluff being like thick liquid marshmallow stuff. I dare not try that as I have a very sweet tooth.

Fluff is delicious and mixing it with Nutella sounds amazing.

A few more pics from today’s jollies.
Marina Bay Sands from the barrage. Did a bit of a hike round the bay, until it got a bit toastie and grabbed a bus. A few times bus drivers have asked where we were going, esp if bus isn’t doing full route. Tempted to answer “anywhere, as long as the AC is working”.
View from the barrage.

Spotted a sea eagle, as you do.
View of MBS with the F1 pits. Not a fan of the Singapore race, bit like watching it in a drain pipe.
Passed the place the DUCK Tours go from. Rooooskie DUCKs, not proper DUKWs.
Tried Milo, bit like drinking choc at home left to go cold. Got a “meh” from both of us.
And fnally a trip to M&S to buy some essentials, been getting a bit sweaty in the bundely region. If anyone says Marino u/wear is good in the heat, it’s not. Normal service resumed after visiting Marky Parkies.

PS Back for more roast duck and pork.
Same reassuring queue.
And as good as yesterday. SWMBO looked through the pics on my phone yesterday and commented that most were food related. So?

There's too much ice in that Milo, it just waters it down.2016 D4 TDV6 Corris Grey

It didn’t get long enough to melt, we’d been on our feet for the previous couple of hours. Well before we got on the bus.

We missed you at Ice Fest Derek.
Next time your hunting out air conditioning, Just imagine, the feel of cold mud between your toes when you need to go for a tinkly in middle of the night. Your breath condensing in the cold air as you try to keep warm in your M&S sleeping bag. Then that damn stove goes out
