Shhhhhhh, don’t remind me, I’ve managed to put on a stone on travels, most of it in Japan! Serious dieting will start back home, need to loose quite a bit of weight so I can start running again without knackering my knees.

Only down side is our flights to LGW are via Stockholm, Norwegian decided they didn’t want to fill their planes going to & from Singapore.

I am mighty impressed, both by the 6 month holiday and the standard of reporting!
Looking forward to the BRA/SOB version!
I get a whole week of holiday shortly. King of the typo.
MY11 D4 5.0 V8, Bournville, lots of goodies!
Now departed: '85 RR Vogue, '94 D1, '95 D1, '70 SIIA, '97 D1, '04 D2a. All V8, except for the SIIA - but that drank as much petrol anyway!

Was a fantastic jolly, trip of a lifetime. Just got to get over the jet lag and get unpacked. And laundry, we deffo need to do some laundry. We’ve learned a lot about travelling our way and really enjoyed the trip, it’s quite hard remembering everything we did. We (well I) sometimes think back to somewhere obscure on the way and get SWMBO’s grey cells moving by saying “remember ........... “
It was a long haul yesterday, really long and change at Stockholm and next flight to Gatwick seemed to take forever. Unfortunately as Norwegian canned the SIN - LGW route. there wasn’t many options that didn’t cost an arm & a leg. Their Premium cabin is not a bad place to be for 12 hours plus we had overwing exit seats for the second flight.
On the long flight SWMBO was happy we weren’t flying over Afghanistan but not impressed that we flew up virtually the whole length of Iran. It didn’t help that I had the rolling map up for most of that bit. Fascinating watching the desert unfold 40k ft underneath us.
Nice fold hinge.

And got to see if this is an Iranian volcano or is Mt Fuji on its holibobs in Iran?

SWMBO was a tad relieved when we were feet wet over the Caspian Sea.

For fellow aviation fans, if my recognition skills are not too rusty, a classic old Caravelle at Stockholm airport fire training bit.

And our long haul 787 giving way to our short haul 737. Very nice as we’d just taxied all the way round the airport to get to the takeoff queue. I thought we were looking for the E4 towards Malmö.

7 countries (incl Sweden ) 6 months, 64 hotel checkins, more modes of transport than you can shake a stick at and only one lost hat. Still lots to see in that part of the world, plans are deffo afoot.

Deffo trip of a lifetime, 3 months in Vietnam was fantastic, as was 2 months in Japan. Just for completely different reasons.

It will do but the temp depends on where we’ll be in “winter”. We’ve kind of gotten used to temp numbers starting with a 3.
