Heated Steering Wheel works intermittently

My Heated Steering Wheel works intermittently.

When switched on the lamp on the switch glows, as normal; but some days it simply does not heat up.

This doesn't seem to relate to the state of charge of the batter, or the ambient temperature.

Any ideas please?

Sounds like a loose or failing wire, or the clock spring, you need to check the connections on and around that area.

Is the drivers heated seat affected at the same time?

That’s good or bad news re: the seat. My FFRR had a fault where very occasionally the heated wheel and seat wouldn’t work, always both at the same time.

I can’t remember exactly what the fix was, but it was fairly simple.

Hope you get it sorted. Thumbs Up

Likely clockspring

First I checked voltage increase at fuse. Remove the fuse and insert multimeter probes while having someone push the heated steering wheel button on and off. If there is no change, could be a faulty switch. If there is a change, it'll likely be your clock spring if the button is not lighting up. if button lights up but no heat then I'd guess issue with the heater within the wheel.

Hope this helps!

Cheers.
