Never seen D4 FBHs smoke like D3 ones do, probably because they are on more often!

I start the car up and leave it to warm up but only since I got a Disklok which is the last thing to remove before driving off. I will explore a remote. 2014 MY Discovery XS Indus Silver. Sadly gone. Second last LR of forty eight years continuous ownership.

Again, thanks all!
I definitely don’t have the option in the menu; all I have is the 4X4 option.
If this is literally just a software update then I’ll get it done when the car is at LR on the 6th.
Fitting a receiver in the boot conjures up images of having to run cable from the engine bay to the boot, I just don’t have the time to do this at the moment, if it was plug n play in the engine bay then I’d happily do it.

As already said your likely to get a much better result using a forum sponsor that has done it dozens of times before. Most dealers probably won't have a clue what you are on about. Adding remote climate is one of the few software changes that a dealer is allowed to do but of course that will also involve buying all the remote hardware from them as well which is likely to get very expensive. Not sure dealers are even able to do the software only upgrade to enable timed climate only.
The forum sponsors and owners with their own IID tools can do changes that main dealers can only dream about. Just because it's only a software change does not mean that a dealer can do it. Personally I'd be very surprised if a dealer can enable timed climate.
The reason for this? Well timed climate was a £700 optional extra on a new car in 2014. Why would LR allow their dealers to make a software change that enables something that they've lost out on already - they won't.
From memory the full remote kit installed at a dealer, purchased as a genuine accessory is over £1000

Didn't think you could do CCF changes on anything other than the single VIN registered vehicle to the IID unless you have IID tool pro which most won't? The OP really needs to get in touch with a forum sponsor.

Ha, dream on!
Land Rover haven't got the resources or the where with all to offer this update as an after market service. If you walk into a showroom and ask for this, they'll look at you as if you've got a welly on your head!!
Your only options are, buy an IID tool and do it yourself or use a forum sponsor. Mods:
Front Fogs + Halos
FBH Remote Control
The 1st Ever RRS Modded Grill
Garmin Nuvi + D4 Surround + Reversing Camera.
D4 Steering Wheel.
Rear Boot Spoiler.
Twin Brake Lights.
Wing Mirror Indicator Repeaters.
Long Roof Rails
Make your own Narpy grill thread
I'm not scared, I'm outta here.

Get the remote option for the FBH and I challenge you not to look smug and superior when you go out to an ice-free warm car, while you neighbour is scraping away cursing as he goes

Thanks all.
Seems it’s not just a software update that’s needed then to enable the timer (and also the remote function) but some secret-squirrel hacking. It won’t hurt to ask at LR, if not then I’ll see if I can track down someone local with a IID Pro.
The IID’s are £300/£400 but the Pros are £1,650!!, otherwise naively if they were £100 I would’ve bought one myself.
