Hhmm
They look genuine but, it's those dimples ??????
I don't see LR producing two variants of the same wheel.

Your D3 hasn't had a brake upgrade by any chance?
or fitted with non standard LR calipers?
Just a thought.

Confused

hmmm its the dimples that got me and the fact they rubbed just slightly on the caliper bit that sticks forward. As far as i know the calipers are genuine, its a 55 06 plater and has only ever been serviced by lr dealers. Just concerned as there is Censored all gap at that point for mud and crap to get past the caliper part. damn it i knew they were too good to be true. They do have what looks to be genuine stamping and marks on the inner of the rim though but i guess thats easy to fake these days. Have to face it and admit i have bought a set of crappy fakes..... On the Freelander 1 the 16" wheel came in two versions, indistinguishable to me except one have dimples and the other not, they are to differentiate, early cars can take both types, later can only take dimpled - maybe this is the same here and there is a subtle variation....maybe as it fouls a caliper not so subtle.

I'd be VERY wary of grinding a caliper, it will be obvious, heaven forbid, in any serious accident investigation and seriously frowned upon or worse I would imagine.

You need to compare the 'offset' or 'ET' figure, stamped in mm's on them, with someone elses without the dimples. I know this doesn't really help if they are fouling the caliper, but the figure may be different to the non dimpled ones. Sorry, I haven't got either type, so can't help with this.

For what its worth

I have similar alloys on my 2005 D3, and the work fine

except when SWMBO goes kerb bashing with them

thinks they are the best looking shoes that can be put on a D3

posted an answer in the wheels that fit thread as well. I didnt think there were two versions of this rim, as they've only been on sale post 07. It would be odd for LR to sell a version for the older L322 (as I dont think they'd sell very many) Has it an LR logo in the casting? (ie genuine LR rim)

A pic of mine.

Very strange.... Confused I wonder if the dimpled ones are 2009 wheels?

yep has a load of info on inner of wheels, part no:, rim size, lr logo, offset etc, although theres nothing to say they could not be copied i suppose. Have tried the same rim from my dads ffrr which has no dimples and whilst it did not skim like the dimpled ones i have the casting was identical on the back of the wheel hub and it was bloody close to catching, as i maybe 1mm in it. Beginning to think maybe the calipers are at fault as the nearside was hardly skimming at all. It did not stop the wheel and only scuffed the paint on the rim inner not gouging the alloy itself. just not sure it should have been that close and why the effing hell mine have dimples.

Right, I have just been outside, which means I had to leave my settee, which is unheard off in the evening Whistle, and checked, I have the 7 spoke FFRR rims and they have NO dimples, perhaps you have the Paul Newman or Steve McQueen variant? They are close to the caliper, but don't touch, I use them as my winter tyre rim and theye have done at least 10k miles, So if they did rub I would have noticed.
