I need a stopping off point on the way to Corwall
Taking the tintent to a CL near Fowey next week. I'm thinking of starting out between 9 and 10pm on Friday to avoid the worst of the traffic if possible. Therefore, I'm going to need somewhere to stop for a few hours.
I'll be travelling down from Nottingham, and I'd like to get South of Bristol if possible. I'd need to be there until about 9am on Saturday - earliest arrival on site is midday.
Can anyone suggest a place where I could park up for a few hours and get some rest?
TIA

One of the M5 service areas? - a few year back we slept overnight at exeter services.
How about Sedgemoor, M5 southbound between J21 and J22. If I recall, dont try Bridgewater as caravan spaces were crap.
Just try and stay away from the trucks with chiller units running all night

I worked in Taunton for about 18months a while ago and this seemed to be a popular stop-off point. You likely wouldn't have to drive far from the M5 junction to find somewhere to park up for a bit, however as a non tintent owner I don't have a better recommendation than that, sorry!Cheers,

I'm familiar with Gordano services, they have the most expensive farm shop in the country. Nice stuff, but difficult to get out of there having lost less than £50!
The only things I'm concerned with is that everyone else is familiar with it and it's a bit further north of Taunton than I wanted to be.There are two rules for success,

Another suggestion would be to go to bed and get up at 4 am. If you leave at around 9 - 10 pm you'll probably get caught up with all the other caravans doing the same thing!

I know Geoff, I'm torn between the two choices. Just want to avoid the M5 congestion between Bristol and Taunton as much as possible. There are two rules for success,

I know it's only just south of Bristol but we stopped off at Portishead last year had a cracking walk near the lido pool on the cliffs watching the ships come in, then had a beer and a nice meal at the wind mill inn which is a nice little pub with great views etc.
and its just off the M5..Disco4 MY16 SDV6 Landmark Black

Doesnt Gordano still have a dodgy reputation for stuff being knicked (being so close to Bristol) - I'd certainly want to be further south than that anyway, so anything from Sedgemoor down would be better IMHO

Sure you're not confusing Gordano services with the next but one north, Gloucester services?
It's only been there for a couple of years and has a big farm shop run by the same family who run the services at Tebay. Nice, not cheap.Arthur.
