mine was SDPC and with the missus on too. I accept it is probably a different class of insurance to what Admiral are offering, but at well over 3 times the price of my current cover it's not something I'll be investing in.
And for that reason, I'm out.2014 D4 XS

Always match elephant and Admiral, they are the same group and will match the price (which does differ - go figure).
Just claimed a total loss with Admiral after some donut drove into my Jag. Valuation was acceptable (£400 above Glass') and service pretty speedy.

Before went with LRIns used More Than, RSA ISTR, and prices were a good bit lower.

I posted the same topic in may when my renewal came back nearly 3 times higher than previous year.
I shopped around and the highest was £2004 from the AA, average was £950.
I stuck with privellege in the end for £534 for year, with voluntary access of £100, hire car plus, so if accident is my fault they give me same or better, protected no claims & legal cover.
That is for me (34), wife (32) both no accidents at all & no penalty points ever. Postcode CV9

Al what postcode are you in. Did Adrian Flux not run it past their other insurers. Mine was a high renewal from Adrian Flux but when I challenged it they swapped it to Highway at less than £500 with off road and business cover. They use more than one insurer.

For the RRS £446 this year with wifey 9 yrs ncb protected, pleasure social, with LRI
Last year £413, they intially quoted £496 this year but phoned up to complain, pointed out Admiral were cheaper and if vandalised would not effect NCB. LRI informed me vandalism claims would not effect ncb with them and gave me a discount of £50.
Looking at the small print see it also covers loss of keys, misfuelling.

Guys
not tried post office
B postcode - and I didnt think it was a dodgy area - honest guv
Tried Privalige - £642, so in the same ball park as quite a few others.
LV - 828
Have been back to Adrian flux, and it turns out the 1635 figure was from another insurerer, and was the best price they could get, as RSA didnt want the business.
back on the phones this morning - hohum, as if I've nothing better to be doing.

Hi Al,
Just doing a similar exercise but different reasons.
We have 3 cars insured through Admiral and I thought renewal price of £1,700 was high until I started reading this thread yesterday- All fully comp with circa £500 excess - and getting quotes.
FFRR TDV8 - Freelander 2 - Mini One
9 years NCD on first two nothing on the third as driven by our 17 year old daughter passed test in April
The cheapest quote I can get for her from any other insurer fully comp is £2,400, and for the FFRR £455 and F2 £313.
So I'm staying with admiral multi car as it looks like I get the two LR's insured for free !
No off road cover etc but at that pricePreviously those that have a special place in my heart

yep - its a ball ache having to trawl around, and now I've got insurers calling me back to see if I want to go ahead with their offer - in most cases, not bloody likely!
the main thing I've found is insurers wanting extra payment for extending your comp cover into europe, typically 30ish quid for 21days cover, which is paid at time of travel. This is new to me as all my previous cover has included this, but I guess its part of keeping their prices down.

I'm get three calls as I've got quotes in my name, my wife's and my daughter - the worst thing is they ring back and say we can get you a better deal go through the whole lot again only to find they cannot - feels like a waste of time in my case as Admiral were cheapest to start with !!
Good luck Al
