Interior Squeaking

Hi guys,

Thought I would try my luck and ask this question. With my D4 at low speeds on a dirt road there is a lot of squeaking coming from the rear interior. I have been unable to pin point exactly where it is coming from.

My initial thought was that it could be the plastic trim on the drop down tailgate but attempts to tighten that trim up have been unsuccessful in muting the squeaks.

Does anyone have any other pointers on what it could be?

Bits of foam rubber might help to isolate the noise, trap it into the crevices in the area to see if it stops

Silicone oil between plastic joints. The internal door handles in my D3 squeaked horribly when I got it, I unclipped the covers, oiled them with silicone oil and 5 years later they're still not noisy. Thumbs Up

I had the same thing. Mine was a creak. Drove me mad.i did all the trim screw tightening that you have done. Eventually ( 18 months later and whilst bored waiting for someone in a car park) I fiddled and did some pushing and pulling and thought it was coming from the left hand catch where the lower tailgate latches into the rear post of the car. WD 40 sprayed into that latch on the lower tailgate and that sorted it thank goodness! It’s like driving a different car. Give it a go.
Obviously worth’s doing both sides while you’re at it.
Hope you get it sorted, it really spoilt my driving experience (and of course, my wife never noticed it,)
Good luck sorting
Cheers
 Gary
