Inverters

Guys,

I have had two inverters, both died, the first one after a few years, the second did not last long at all.

Anyone recommend a low to medium-priced one that lasts ?

Just want to run laptop & camera battery chargers.

Thanks,
Scott

Hi,

I have a 500W that has been under the rear floor for 2 and a half years, no problems, I'll open it up in the morning and post a pic/details.

Hi Scott,

Unit is a 300w,continuous, 500Watt peak as per the label, Actually 3 years old. Brand is Projecta.

One thing I do that may be different is to isolate the inverter from power except when in use, hence the switch beside it. This may help with long life.

It came from a supercheap store, I could not find exactly what I wanted at the time and thought it would do for a specific trip. I charge lights camera's etc from it when camping and travelling. As you can read it has some reasonable protection feature as well, I remeber it was "near " sine wave" output quality, ie an intermediate quality for an inverter, better than stepped but not pure.
