If you have an accident and the Insurance company investigate/Inspect the vehicle, you may have problems if the tyres fitted to the car are below OEM spec. Disco 3 TD6 HSE Sept 06

Bit of a fallacy, the speed rating/insurance thing. http://www.motuk.co.uk/manual_410.htm
S rated tyres will be fine for the police, VOSA and DOT so an insurer won't have a leg to stand on if they attempted to refuse payment unless it were an express condition of the policy, ie. not relying on "undisclosed modifications" to refute the claim. 10 years in insurance management under my belt, much of it involving the FSA and FOS dealing with regulated complaints, often arguing the toss over rejected claims. I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.
