Key stolen
Evening people, what a horrible world we are all living in today, around 8pm tonight some scum bag decided it would be a good idea to pinch my discovery 4 key.
Just asking for expertise what would you do next. It’s currently behind gates with the battery removed, so good luck if they come back tonight.
I have 2 keys programmed obviously I have the spare but someone else has the other one.

You should be able to get the stolen key removed from the ECU, I'm pretty sure the IID can do it if you have one.Discovery 4 GS 2009 Auto Stornoway Grey

this is easily done. As mentioned above, they still have a key meaning they can get in anyways…
I’d get it programmed with the current fobs asap. I’d also have the lock barrel swapped.
FYI, herein Canada there is a 2 month delay between initiating an order and receiving the fob.

I may be wrong but have a feeling you can't delete keys from a D4, in which case insurance job - new barrel and module.

Not my experience. I have 2 new fobs paired to the vehicle and previous fobs removed. BTW, the data is not stored in the ecm.2015 LR4 HSE Lux Aintree Green

Will the insurance instruct what to do? You think dealer only? Need it sorting asap because I am scared to use it and scared they will come back.

Me…. My vehicle would already be at either the dealer or my trusted Inde that has a topix subscription and an JLR relationship for superior service.2015 LR4 HSE Lux Aintree Green

Just for the record I have had confirmation that the Gap tool cannot delete keys.

This is a major security component. Utilizing encrypted keys.
I would worry if just any tool could connect to the ODBII port and delete keys.
Your vehicle, your choice but I wouldn’t (or should have said ‘haven’t’) cheap out or delay; book yourself with a JLR recognized service facility. Or don’t…2015 LR4 HSE Lux Aintree Green
