It has a 300Kg weight limit. I wonder what would happen it you were to extend it; if you were to increase the size to something useful (like the D4's platform) the extra leverage would greatly increase the strain on the hinges and the thin cable that holds it in place. Sit two moderately sized people on it and I wouldn't rate its chances...2011 - 2015: 3 x FL2

Dangerous place to put it, I knocked many a cup off there when I forget and open the tailgate
I found the perfect spot is to the left and right of the tailgateMY06 S - Gone but not forgotten

But the boot is open.....it would only be an issue if the lower section was put down to allow larger loads to be put in. And I haven't yet needed a trolley from Greggs.

Did my Dad teach you to drive too, Red Merle? Although I did work at one place where site rules required you to drive into the bay with car pass on front dashboard.
I really like the fact that you can access work bagst etc by just upping the top part of the tailgate on my D4.

My RRS has the opening glass section of the tailgate. Very useful in similar situations. Wasn't a popular feature, apparently, and was dropped at the facelift. Visiting from rrsport.co.uk
