Hi, can anyone tell me the problems with Landrover and LED lights - we have just had our car wired up for
brakes for towing a camper trailer and the LED lights at the back are flashing.
Also the brakes are not working at all, we know its the car as we hooked it to the horsefloat and the brakes
did not work also. Landrover is saying they have wired up the car properly and say we need a shunt box, that is
350 dollars worth to fix the static in the LED lights, they also said that this would fix the brakes!!
I would like to know if this will fix the brakes and has anyone else had the same problem?

Who did the work?
The flashing LEDs is normal, you need a pulse shunt (do a search) to stop it.
The D3 flashes the light ciruits to check for faults. Cannot be seen with filament globes because they take longer to warm up, LEDs are instantaneous so you see the flash. “There are only three sports: bullfighting, motor racing, and mountaineering; all the rest are merely gamesâ€

Welcome Alizajane.
As others have said, you need a shunt to stop the flashing leds. You can get such a unit here:

Re the brakes: I see no reason for the presence or absence of the pulse shunt to affect these. I suspect that either the car plug or the trailer is incorrectly wired.
Are they electric brakes?
Best Wishes,

Hi Peter, thanks for your comments, yes the car has electric brakes, Landrover wired the car and say it is working but it doesn't work on the camper trailer, the guy that made the camper trailer says he has wired
it properly and it is working, put them together and they don't work!!
We put the car on the horsefloat and the brakes don't work and I know they did with my other car, Landrover are telling us that when we put the shunt on the brakes will work, we are not sure if this will be the case.
Cheers Jane

LR seem to wire theirs differently from others (many european cars vary) there has been discussion on here somewhere? about how the LR is wired for brakes. It could be that the trailer manufacturer has wired for Jap wiring and tthe LR way is different. “There are only three sports: bullfighting, motor racing, and mountaineering; all the rest are merely gamesâ€
