How long til change of reg appears on MIB database??

I changed the number on Mrs DSL's D3 to a private plate, did it through the local VRO and received a new tax disk and changed MOT there and the. So far so good! Then told LR Ins about the change in plate which they have changed on their system. When I first bought the car and took out a LR Ins policy it appeared on www.askmib.co.uk overnight. For the change of reg it has now been a week and no sign of it changing. Have phoned LR Ins to see if the change has "taken" and yes it has.

Anyone know how long the process should take and why the difference between a new policy going on straight away and a change taking over a week and still not appearing??? Question

Changed my insurance on Wednesday last week for a plate change and it only came up on the askmid website today. The reg number still doesn't appear on the DVLA database though.

I am guessing that the insurance database is perhaps looking for the reg number to appear on the DVLA database, As it is a new reg number and the details are not keyed in at the local VRO, it probably takes a week or so to appear.

Will carry the Ins Cert in the car, don't want to appear as a crim on next episode of Police, Stop, Action!!! I'm forever saying to the TV "likely story, you're nicked" when the bad guy pleads "just got new car" or "just changed reg"! Thumbs Up Thumbs Up
