Not so sure Del, good set of muds might have worked - though hard to see the slope.
I was surprised to see the onlookers so close to the rope - I appreciate that there probably wasn't much tension in it, but still..........Mark.

Been on a similar surface on MTRs going nowhere, car bonging that suspension is about to lower. Even if both had muds on they still wouldn't be going anywhere, momentum was needed & that was totally lacking.

Nice to see a few basic winching rules broken. Stepping over a live rope and people standing too close, could have been nasty if the cable had given up...

I was at Farm Feast Festival at Claremont Farm on the Wirral yesterday. It was scorchio however there had been horrendous rain the night before...
Suffice to say the car park (a grass farm field) was basically a bog once a few cars had driven in and parked. Even with the organisers putting large boards right down the main sections, as it was a slight uphill every 9 out of 10 cars were really struggling.
So, all confident about the Disco paying for itself, I stuck it into grass/snow mode, raised her up and reversed out of my space, to drive the long way around the car park (cos I could!) Cue 30sec's of medium rev's and absolutely zero movement - me and the Mrs were just looking at each other worried.
Then I noticed it would help if I were in D rather than N... And away we go. Having said that, in the worst parts were it was proper sloppy, rutted & thick mud I reckon the only thing that got me through was momentum. I've got Yokohama Prada Spec X 285 50 R20 112V M+S on the front and Cooper Zeon XST 285 50 20 116V M+S on the rear but they didn't help. Would have needed some serious rubber to get any traction from a standstill.Cheers,
Gareth

Yes it is, he was on mud,s and had driven around the RR to see which way to pull him out, RR was sat in four holes that the driver had dug for himself
Conveniently winch out by the dead fender parked on the firmer ground,

I was there on Sunday and the car park was pretty slick.
Wet mud on grass, horrible combination.
Just driving out the car park I feel that if I had paused for a second it would have been all over
