LRP Antenna Mount

Anybody got one of these?

I've got an SO-239 based antenna and want to know whether it will fit. I realise I'll have to drill the hole out but it's a question of whether it will accommodate a 38mm diameter antenna.

That looks like a really dangerous projection. The RLD mount is far far safer and will give better radio as it is up on the roof.

It doesn't project that far that it's likely to be a hazard, particularly once it's got an antenna mounted on it.

I would prefer to have it mounted on the roof and that's where it's currently sitting but by the time you add a 2 metre whip to the top of a D4 it becomes rather impractical for fitting under anything, you don't see many multi-storey car parks with 4m of clearance. It even scrapes the roof of my local Asda filling station let alone green laneing.

The antennae I use can be pulled up against a spring and then folded down flat on the roof. Sawes unscrewing.

Yes, I've got one on my D4. Was great for the CB whilst away in Iceland. It doesn't stick out beyond the wheel arches and if you think about it, it will have an antenna attached so it's visible.

However, you could sharpen it for green laning to cut down the bushes.
