I'm the kind of chap that makes mistakes when posting and very quickly jump back in before anyone has read them to amend spelling etc and not get an "edited 1 time" message.
However, in light of recent events might it not be a good idea to simply say no editing once a post has been read?? It may stop some from behaving in a manner they could later become embarrassed about?
Alternatively, I could be missing the whole point and you guys just carry on - I know I will

If editing was highly restricted, one option would to just select ''Quote'' and repost the edited version - possibly making life MORE complicated.
I vote for the Status Quo.... and things staying the same....
