If it'll do 22mpg then you're not going to be far off the diesel in terms of actual cost.

The EU6 models are noticeably more responsive. LR finally got the mapping for the engine and gearbox right with those.

In theory they didn’t produce any more bhp/torque but in practice they feel more powerful and smoother.

If we decide to go to 1 car it will be a 5.0 v8 as currently running a d3 v8 and rrs v8 petrol 4.2sc.
Plenty comming into the country from Japan now days as they reach the to old to keep up with the strict Japanese version of our mot.

If your main criteria is as little to go wrong as possible, then a newer vehicle is not for you. You need an older vehicle with less complicated mechanicals and less electronics. To be honest I am eyeing up D2s again. Just enough electrickery for comfort such as CC, heating, AC, electric windows, central locking, etc.
But basic enough to be able to fix in the driveway no matter what goes wrong. Td5 doesn't snap cranks either and is very reliable. V8 thirsty but very basic engine as well.

Canada 2015 LR4 3.0 SCV6 HSE Lux Auto Aintree GreenLR4

Interesting thread.
I aim quite please with my 2015 LR4 HSE. 3.0 SCV6.
And though my friend is pleased with his 2010 5.0... I wouldn't trade mine for that strictly by age and miles.
Oh, and mine goes off road. I mean really off road. His doesn't.
Cheers.
