MY2016 Landmark
Hi all, One week to the day since I collected my first Land Rover vehicle.
I had a BMW X6 m-sport before this, which I only had for a very short time!...spent most of my time fending off car thieves & nutters...it also was hard work on the long journeys that my line of work takes me on.
I do approx 30 to 40k a year and change my motors often, I have had Cherokee, Shogun,XC Volvo, Touareg...you name it I have probably had it for a year or so...
I am quite late to the Disco party, but I am just loving this beast so far...
I am looking forwards to the D5 coming along and hope it retains the feel and funtionality of the D4 Landmark... I have even took a trip today to the JLR Sollihull experience center to show the Wife what it is all about and grab myself some goodies from their shop..
Nice lady on their reception told me there is a free experience voucher in the post to every new vehicle owner (not told this by dealer..so called him to check whilst at JLR was all set to buy one!), so I now look forwards to some off road action soon... love at first drive

Very hot gear selector
Just a quick question..I noticed on the a38 on the way back from JLR that my gear selector and surrounding plate/area was extremely warm/hot to the touch...
Rang dealer & they said it is normal, due to heating curuit being in close proximity...does this sound right to you guys?

Mines always hot during and after a long journey. I'm pretty sure it is heat from the gearbox.
Never caused me any issues26 and on the 4th LR..

Empy pockets indeed...she goes back into the dealer on Monday for side steps...£930 fitted...told this was discounted price due to them being fitted...told an hour & half to fit...
I do't want aftermarket ones, but this LR price is fairly steep...think it will finish off the black and silver trim look, plus the Wife appears to be falling out of the beast when exiting it, which is never a good look

I have got e bay ones on the last few D3's and D4's round the £100 mark and easy to fit.
They seem as good as LR ones and at £100 even if I have to replace them every two years still cheaper than LRMY17 D5 1st Edition Namib Orange
