Nav on the move

Hi all
I want to activate Nav on the move on my D3, do I just load the update onto the iid and then plug it into the car? Any potential issue I might face when doing this?

Cheers

Graham

You'll need to stick a 2008 or later disc in to enable it too.

Ok thanks, where is the disc unit, is it under the passenger seat?

In a RHD vehicle under the passenger seat, LHD it is the driver’s. There’s a lock tab which you need to move first, then the disc can be ejected.

Connect some sort of power supply to the car as it takes a while

A CTEK MXS 25 in supply mode... it’ll take over one hour for nav-on-move. You don’t want a trickle charger and fluctuating voltage while flashing an ECU.

Alternatively you can do it with another vehicle supplying the power using jump leads. A CTEK isn’t exactly cheap unless you have friends you can borrow one from..

Can I tell what flavour the disc is on the screen anyhow? I have check type charger I use on my Harley and caravan batteries, that should be ok?

I think there was some way of checking the version through the menus but I don’t remember how. If you eject the disk it should have something written on top of it, though.

Not sure about your charger, you probably need to research it a bit. Mr. Green
