Navigation screen delay and random faults at start up |
|
For the past few weeks I have noticed random faults in the message center upon start up that quickly disappear after 10 seconds of engine power. They include both transmission and suspension faults, which leave no further details in the information center i> . I have also noticed that the land rover navigation screen flickers and takes a while before the land rover logo and push button safety screen appear. I'm assuming that my battery is low, and this is causing these odd occurences. I've recently taken my D3 on a longer highway trip and upon start ups after this trip no faults occurred and the land rover navigation screen (logo and safety) popped up right away. Can anyone confirm that my symptoms are battery related? I have a '05 which is still under warranty. If it is battery related, will they give me a new battery or should I just have it charged? Thanks in advance. 16 D4 Landmark

I agree that it sounds battery-related.
Have you been doing mostly short trips before the problem showed? If so, it may just be that the battery has been getting insufficient charging time. If not, battery may be on the way out.
I any case, I would be getting the battery tested.
IIRC the battery is covered during the warranty period.

Yes the vast majority of my trips are short. I assume that this is why I'm experiencing these random faults and nav screen delay. When I run my D3 on the highway or for longer periods these random faults don't occur. Question is if I bring it up to the dealer will they charge my battery or just give me a new one? 16 D4 Landmark
