New campervans on site

Away with tintent at the moment, site is camper van central. I know the cost of some of these and an awful lot are very new. Has everyone raided their pension funds in the wake of Covid-19. 😳

Gone - MY18 D5 HSE - Corris on 22's with Black Pack
Now gone - MY16 D4 SE Tech, Loire Blue, Almond Leather, Privacy, plus some other goodies.
Old - MY12 D4 SDV6 XS Auto - Ipanema Sand with Almond Leather - Plus other niceties, and D4.com sticker
Older - D3 TDV6 XS Auto - Lugano Teal with Almond Leather, 20" Stormers, Shiny Tailpipes, DVD/TV - and obligatory D3 sticker
Ancient - D3 TDV6 S - Tonga with Ebony, 20" Stormers, satnav & DVD

My Father has just bought a Tintent to be towed by his Disco 5.
I never thought I would see the day....!

This is because he lost his licence for the campervan category when he passed 65 I think?
He wasn't aware of the fact that to regain the category afterwards is a real PITA once it's gone!

a friend bought his van ten years ago £110k,,,,the dealer has contacted him recently offering to buy back at this price....phooookin crazy...south devon council running a scheme where you can park in one of 10 carparks overnight for modest money..some have FAB veiws

Was at a site in North Devon last weekend, nothing but VW campers and Motor homes could count the caravans on one hand!!
They all looked very new but some were hires looking at the logos

yes the worlds gone campervan / motorhome crazy was the same in the new forest last weekend

good news for my brother in law who set up a 6 no VW campervan hire business last year hes booked solid
all year


i cana see the small vw size attraction but cant really see the big motorhome thing unless you tow small car /scooter . but must be me

And to think I sold one a few years ago Big Cry - site that is not a ‘van, had over 100 ‘vans on it in peak periods, trouble with romanies was the main reason.

Noticed this in Coniston last week. Many more campers than caravans. Most new.

I reckon when overseas travel comes back, the bubble will burst.

We looked at buying a new tin tent earlier this year and no build slots until 2022 for a Swift. Only low spec last year models on the forecourt.
