You've got it in one there! I hope someone at the dealership is in a mountain of poo over this
Unfortunately they won't care as even if you pull out then they'll sell it to someone else. In their eyes you are an annoyance and should just take it and shut up, regardless of them f ing up the order. There are good dealers and there are stealers, wonder which category that one fits in.

You are going through my absolute worst nightmare. To the point I've just emailed my dealer asking for their order sheet as I was promised it but never received it. We always have to have a light interior its the one thing SWMBO puts her foot down on and its my personal preference too.
Hope you get it sorted soon. Personally id be wanting a new order and a demonstrator on loan for the next however many months.

I would want to push for them taking your Freelander now and providing you with a proper Discovery until the new one arrives.
I would be worried about holding onto a part exchange so long and would be even more annoyed if that devolved a fault/needed a repair that I then had to pay for when I shouldn't have even had the car by that point.Andy

Gutted for you, one of the best things about buying new should be its the exact spec you want and not having to compromise. I'd definitely be after a demo for the interim until they can sort. Gives them a bit more incentive to get the right one sooner!

Firstly, I'd like to say a huge thank you for all the support from everyone and an extra thank you to Dannyson for being such a good sport when I've hijacked his thread!
I won't deny it, I was disappointed when (after a 3 month wait), my new car turned up with a catastrophic colour error, only compounded by the issue of the difficulty of getting hold of the sales chap before I was told.
However, to their credit, they have come back with an offer to put it right that I'm as happy as I can be to accept. I'll have to wait another 2 months for a fresh order, but I'll be usefully better off as a result
Oh well, better luck next time!

As long as you're happy, even if it's eventually, then that's the main thing. Hopefully they remembered that you pay their wages.

I am sure you would sooner they didn't mess it up, but at least they have now made amends and no harm in being usefully better off either!Andy

Don't think its 'Cornwalls' fault .... the 'common denominator' here is the same dealer!..... having said that its not uncommon for dealers to mess up an order .... just spoke to my son who's worked for Lexus and now Skoda .... regular issue at both companies ... just this week they had to get in specialists at a cost of £1500 to fit a powered rear door for a 'Superb' as the dealer didn't press the right factory fit option button!!
Fitzy ..... had enough of Cornwall? .... I've been here just 3 years and it does take some getting used to!! - but I've grandchildren here to look out for .. picking up and feeding and the like after school and full time during school holidays ..... nightmare.....!! ..... does have its moments though ... just a few... 2016MY Discovery HSE - Black
