Hope that fixes it Scwede. CarWebGuru was the only app I installed and the effect was almost immediate - just continuous re-booting until it died. I have used that app on an Android tablet and it worked fine so it's all very strange. I've asked for a refund or replacement, but no response yet. Discovery 2 TD5 gone

Maybe just a faulty batch
I’d still like to get one of these as there very little choice for the money
I realise that you can get similar in the UK but they are at least 3x time the price probably for the same units, perhaps if they were not so greedy we would look at them. I’d pay £250 for a UK one but not £500-600 + 2005 D3 SE Auto, zermatt silver

Posting an update now I've had the unit and used it more for a few weeks.
It looks good and functionality is great. I like the fact you can use the full steering wheel controls even in apps like Spotify to skip tracks.
Overall the unit is a little frustrating as it's just not powerful enough. I tried running Spotify and Google Maps in splitscreen mode and it gets very laggy. Also for some bizarre reason the 4G dongle connects and then drops out every time having to be manually reconnected. It does not do this from the phone hotspot connection so I would not but that or the reverse camera as its a waste of money.
I'm now using it as my maps solution even though its a bit slow and Bluetooth streaming from my phone. Again the big advantage from any of the other aux solutions is the ability to have steering wheel controls work.

I agree with this.... but if you you use CarPlay it's very fast and not laggy. In fact that's all I wanted it for - and although mine stopped working I was happy with it.
New motherboard has arrived in Sweden but not to me yet - will update.
Also the camera is crap but I bought another one from ebay and swapped it - much better.
Although my car has just had the cracked oil pump time bomb go off, so I'll be enjoying CarPlay and pretending to reverse from the garage! 2012 Discovery 4 HSE Sumatra Black

This is the only time I ever wished I was an Iphone user
Android Auto is not so straight forward and proves to be equally as laggy as it's an app on the headunit

Hi Jalvacas,
The dongle they send is simply a generic 4G dongle - but with no sim card. You have to get that locally.
It should have a green light when connected but will show an error until you add the sim. 2012 Discovery 4 HSE Sumatra Black

A question for those who have installed this kit, please...
I set about fitting mine this evening, it took a little while to make sense of the various cables and adaptors included, without any real instructions.
I worked out that the power plug for the back of the unit tees into the power supply for the original radio, so I fitted that small loom, and plugged it into the new unit - but nothing happened.
There are 2 wire tails on that loom, one for +12V and one for ACC - however when I test the power pin at the black plug where it goes into the new unit, I'm getting 12V with the ignition on.
Am I missing something - does it somehow need these other 2 wires fed back to the fuse box? I seemed to be getting +12V at the +12V marked yellow wire - suggesting that it doesn't go back to the fuse box, as it's already live!
On that point - there are 2 small white plugs on this 'power' loom - but I can't see where they're meant to go.

There s no Acc available on the factory radio plug. (It’s done over the bus)
It is available from the rear of the cigar lighter. Green wire

Just offering an alternative here…
I have this unit in my disco4 (they also do one for disco3) wireless CarPlay and android (whatever that is ) works seamlessly has all the functions and cameras and the sound is better than stock. (I have high Meridian).
Yes expensive but very good…..
https://unique-ad.co.uk/product-category/land-rover/ A mod a week until I have nothing to improve or add.

Thanks- I noted that the yellow +12V wire tail was actually live at 12V, I assumed it would have needed connected back to the fuses.
I'll hook up the ACC line when I get a chance - I'd have expected it to work without that, once the ignition was on or the engine running.
