May get a little confusing as one would assume that this number would be on the front also!

Whilst I can understand the furore over the offset number plate on the D5, I wish to point out that the D1, D2, D3 and D4 have exhibited an offset plate since first released and I can't recall many complaints.

But on the subject of the rear end and the appearance of largeness, mostly it can be put down to the shorter focal length of many phone/cameras that will always show a distorted view.

If anyone with a 50 mm or longer lense chose to photograph a D5 (New Discovery) from about 3 metres back, it would give a closer 'real' view instead of these exaggerated ones that whip up so much distaste.

If anyone wishes to post a more natural view (50 mm lense on a 35 mm camera), it would allow us to compare the differences.

The old girl is on her third engine...
* first ran a bearing (design failure in original engine)
* second had a failure of the water outlet on top of the engine (pls check yours)

The offset rear plate on the previous versions were for practical reasons. The D5's is an attempt to hark back to the earlier designs and fails because it's so obviously an affectation.

The rear end looks big when one looks at it with the naked eye, in my experience. It doesn't need a camera lens to make it look large.
